We’re SO excited to welcome a brand-new guest teacher to Edge Company Day! 💙
Ian “Seven” Tackes will be joining us on Sunday, September 13 to work with our Company dancers in HIP HOP! We can’t wait for our dancers to experience his unique movement style, creativity, and passion for the culture of dance. 🔥
ABOUT SEVEN:
Ian “Seven” Tackes is a B-boy, filmmaker, and choreographer. His formal dance training began at the University of the Arts, where he was introduced to Kyle and Dinita Clark, who he now dances for as a principal member of Just Sole! Street Dance Theater Company.
In 2024, Seven graduated from Bennington College with a BFA in Dance under the direction of Donna Faye Burchfield. Over the past two years, he has continued dancing with Just Sole, competing in battles across the East Coast, including placing Top 16 at Step Ya Game Up in NYC.
Most recently, Seven performed in Curt Haworth’s Imperfect Circles as part of PDP’s Dance Up Close 2026. He has also begun presenting his own choreography, performing Rewind at the Gathering Series at &Space in June 2026.
Seven’s work honors the lineage of breaking, social hip hop, house, popping, and locking, while exploring themes of play and human connection.
We’re excited to introduce Seven to the Edge family and can’t wait to see what he brings to the studio! 💙🔥
