I greatly apologize for waiting too long to make this post, I truly do feel terrible about it. It is with a heavy heart that I inform everyone Skydive Lone Star has been forced to close for an indefinite period of time due to the city of Luling closing the airport. They did this in an unprecedented time frame, with only a 3 month warning. Unfortunately, the realistic timeline to get a skydive operation into an airport is 9 months to a year. With that being said, we are moving forward on gaining access to Lockhart. Their requirements are a little different than Luling but nothing I haven’t dealt with at the other airports I’ve operated from including the facilities I started from scratch. I did have to take a step back for my mental health as I was severely depressed over this whole ordeal along with other tragedies. The good news is we will get into Lockhart, bad news is we don’t know when and we are waiting on some political things from both the county and the city of Luling.
As for the Tandem and AFF customers, refunds will be addressed per company policy and case by case basis. However, we are essentially out of business. 3 months is simply not enough time to get into another airport, or seamlessly close a business. As far as the sport jumpers who had money on their account, that will also be addressed per company policy and a limited case by case basis. I hope you all understand what happened here and what toll it has taken on me and my loved ones. As things progress I will post periodic updates or any change of plans as is deemed necessary.
Thank you to all who helped keep Skydive Lonestar running and operating over the years, and to all of those who were a part of the skydive family. Above all else, I especially thank all the staff/jumpers that trusted me and my vision, and continue to see me for who I really am. I wish nothing but the best for everyone.
