Meet Miss Alissa (Alissa Bly) 🩰✨💛

Miss Alissa is another beautiful LFSD “grown here” story. She grew up dancing at LFSD, then went on to minor in dance at Grand Valley State University. After moving away for school and work, she returned to the area about 10 years ago—and has been teaching and pouring into dancers ever since!

You’ll find Miss Alissa in Ludington teaching:

For her, teaching dance is a true creative outlet—and she loves helping students grow while nurturing their own creativity along the way.
Fun fact: Miss Alissa’s full-time job is a physical therapist, which means she gets to blend her medical knowledge with her love of movement to help others every day. 💪🩺
Her message to every dancer is one we all need to hear: Your body is amazing—and capable of so much.

Meet Emma Claveau ✨🩰💛

Emma’s story is a true LFSD full-circle moment. She began dancing at a young age and was once a student right here at Letha Fulton’s School of Dance—and now she’s back as a teacher at the studio that helped shape who she is today. LFSD wasn’t just where she learned to dance… it’s where she built confidence, developed her work ethic, and found a place that truly felt like home.

Emma teaches Dance Jam, MS Jazz, and Int. Jazz, and what she loves most is helping dancers focus on growth—getting better each day, gaining confidence, and discovering what they’re capable of. Her message is one we all need: growth over perfection… always.

Fun fact: Emma participates in pageants—and her love for being on stage started with dance! 💫👑

In her classroom, Emma hopes every dancer feels valued, seen, and significant—because every student matters.

Meet Alex Swanger 💥💛

Alex started dancing at LFSD at age 10 (thanks to her sisters!)… and once she tried it, she never looked back. After training beyond LFSD, she’s now back home—bringing fresh hip-hop energy and sharing what she loves with the next generation.
Alex teaches Hip-Hop (ages 6–14) in Ludington, and what she loves most is watching students dance as a community—not just as individuals. Her goal? That every dancer feels welcome, seen, and has a great time the moment they walk in. ✨

Fun fact: Alex is part of a Grand Rapids hip-hop company, Essence Movement Collective—and she’s also working on her personal training certification! 💪🔥

Two of our senior team members competed at yesterday and performed beautifully!
Olivia received a platinum adjudication, a 360 scholarship, and 4th place.
Brenna received a full bloom adjudication, a 360 scholarship, metamorphosis invitation, dynamic performance judges award, and 1st place.

So proud of both of these dancers! Way to represent LFSD!
