Hattrick Charters – Ludington Sportfishing Report

***We still have openings for this coming holiday weekend***

Fishing out of Ludington continues to improve as we settle into the summer pattern, and anglers are seeing good opportunities to put together quality mixed bags of salmon. King salmon remain the main attraction, with coho and the occasional steelhead adding to the catch.

The most consistent action has been during the first few hours of daylight. Early morning bites have been coming on a mix of flasher/fly combinations and spoons, brighter oranges, greens and yellows up high, blues, greens and whites down deeper. The coming weeks should kick us into prime time.

The morning bite has been the most productive, and calm conditions have made for comfortable trips and great opportunities for anglers of all experience levels.

The weeks ahead typically offer some of the best salmon fishing of the season, and dates are filling quickly. If you're looking to spend a morning on beautiful Lake Michigan chasing powerful king salmon, now is the perfect time to book your trip with Hattrick Charters.

This past Friday I wrapped up my 21st season as a captain, Charter operator on Lake Michigan. I want to thank each and everyone on my wonderful friends and clients that have support business for all these years. It was a great year on the lake and I'm hoping to have many more. I dont take as many photos as I used to,but I will share a few from this season.

I'm off a few days then start on the Pere Marquette river for fall run Chinooks.
