Tell me in the comments!
💪🏼= love to workout on vacation.
👎🏼= no workout! Rest & Relaxation all the way.
This is not me saying one is right and one is wrong. I’m honestly just curious!
I am 💯% a 💪🏼.
This is why:
-I like to stay on my routine. I wake up early just like at home— this gives me the chance to watch the beach sunrise if at the beach and then I hit a workout right after while it’s still cool outside. I try to keep the workout right around an hour or less. This way it’s not interrupting family time.
-My energy level is its best when I move first thing in the morning. This makes my entire day more enjoyable.
-My body feels its best when I move some. My joints and muscles feel their best when I have exercised.
-I’m an introvert to the core. The quiet mornings are good for me and my mental health. If I give myself that quiet time, I can be better for those around me.
-Starting the day with something challenging and uncomfortable makes me feel like I’ve won the day. Everything else I do is extra at that point.
-I sleep better! Sleeping in different places other than my own bed is rough for me! However, when I workout, I am able to get better quality sleep. Staying in a routine with working out, helps with the different sleeping situation for sure.
Tips for working out on vacation:
1. If you are able to take some equipment, do it! It’s not necessary, but gives you more options. My favorite pieces to take are resistance bands. You can do so much with bands and they take up very little space. I took 2 bands (one small and one large), two Dumbbells (15 # & 25 #), & a 65 # already filled sandbag. Thinking back, I could have taken it empty and filled it there, & emptied it before we left but we had the truck and plenty of space to take it back and forth as is.
2. Add tempo and pauses to your movements. This makes everything more challenging and requires you to use less weight. It also teaches you patience, makes you focus more on the area you’re isolating, & forces you to brace your core and whatever area you’re isolating more!
3. Have towels or a blanket to perform your workout on especially if completing it on the beach.
4. DO not be embarrassed or self-conscious to be different or look different on the beach or wherever you’re fitnessing. I’ve done workouts on sidewalks, campgrounds, beaches, & balconies. You should be PROUD that you’re showing up for yourself. You will get stares and sometimes questions, but you never know who you might be inspiring along the way.
