Apologizing for the long post now 🤣

It’s been said many times, The Bad Apple is a family, and family does what family does. We look out for each other.

I know we could have managed to cover this bill without the Flush Party. Taken the blow behind the scenes and a little more privately. Maybe even feel the sting for a while longer than is comfortable.

But The Bad Apple has FAMILY.

The Apple had a little bit of a slow summer. While y’all were taking beach trips, having backyard cookouts and enjoying summer, we were up here twiddling our thumbs 🤣 But hey, y’all can’t ALWAYS be with your bar family, now can you?

So instead of just paying the bill and moving on, we figured we could have a badass time, ask our customers to come support us, and do it in a way where everybody wins.

Y’all bought some b**r.
We had one hell of a time.
And WE’RE FLUSHING THIS BILL.

To our Entertainment yesterday. Spurs and Feathers, Hunter Grant, Ed Davis, Michael Thomas and David Leal. We absolutely couldn't have done it without your talent and generosity. You all are the best, and were so glad to have built the relationships we have with each of you.

Thank y’all so much. And I hope every single one of you knows how genuine I am when I say, we love you guys and THANK YOU for being FAMILY. ❤️

Now, a little side note for the few comments that were not from concern or curiosity but a little more accusatory and mean.

Yes, we clean our bathrooms.
No, the toilet did not run for an entire month.
Yes, we noticed it running and thought we had fixed it.
Yes, it is ABSOLUTELY fixed now.
Yes, a running toilet really can use that much water.
No, the Town of Lucama isn’t to blame. I didn’t think they were, but as a smart and responsible businesswoman, I did my due diligence and asked the necessary questions.

And yes, if you’ve tried doing the math based on the numbers I posted, it won’t add up to the full bill. That’s because our utility bill also includes our electric usage, and I never posted that amount. I can, though. 😂

But enough about that.

Y’all showed up.

And then you SHOWED OUT.

And we love the hell out of y’all for it.

Well… this is a post I really didn’t want to have to make. 😅

If you know us, you know we’d much rather be the ones helping somebody else than asking for help ourselves. But sometimes you just have to swallow your pride and lean on the people around you a little.

A running toilet that went unnoticed managed to use 84,000 gallons of water in one billing cycle and left us with a $2,164.32 bill. 🚽💦 Yep. You read that right. Apparently a toilet can ruin your whole damn month. 😂

So instead of sitting around crying over spilled water, literally, we’re throwing an EPIC FLUSH PARTY this Saturday, September 5th!

We’re making a whole day of it with local musicians throughout the day, DJ Leal late night, free chips & dip, and drink specials all day.

We know we have a community behind us and a whole lot of people who love the Bad Apple, so we’re just asking you to come out and support us the best way you know how, by having a good time with us. ❤️

Come drink a cold b**r, eat some dip, listen to some music and hang out. Just showing up and supporting the bar helps us.

We’re going to make the best out of a crappy situation, which seems pretty appropriate considering a toilet got us into it. 😂🚽
