Johnny Gaines was Born in Amarillo Texas, in the fall of 2007 attended Clarendon High School and became a four sport Letterman in Basketball, Football, Baseball, and Track & Field. Gaines was awarded various honors in all 3 sports and Qualified for the State Track meet in 2009-2011. Some of these honors include:

Amarillo Globe News Offensive Player of the Year 1A-5A.

Gaines graduated in the spring of 2011, a few months following his graduation, Gaines decided to continue his education and pursue baseball at Odessa College. After finishing up his two years playing 2nd Base for the Wranglers, Gaines then finished up his baseball career at West Texas A&M. While playing for the Buffaloes, Gaines Received All-Lone Star Conference Tournament 2nd Baseman in 2014. Then the following year he received the same award while playing 3rd base for the Buffaloes. In February of 2016, Johnny began working for C**t 45 Baseball in Amarillo, Texas, one of the leading baseball facilities in the Texas Panhandle. There he instructed and mentored around 50 young men a week, teaching them the fundamentals of baseball while building character and knowledge of the game.
