CSU Logging Sports had a combustion fire in one of their equipment sheds over the weekend. All of their gear has either been damaged or destroyed with the exception of their axes and they are looking for all the support they can get right now. If you or someone you know has some gear you are willing to part with, or other ways you are able to support this team rebuild and salvage equipment, please contact them at [email protected]

✅Missoula ProAm
AWFC Colleges closed out their season and ALA competitors opened theirs this weekend in Montana! This show brings a great opportunity for competitors of all levels to meet and compete together. This year not only did the ProAm offer pro/collegiate butcher blocks and jack and jill, it also offered an intermediate one board and the first ever collegiate one board for the AWFC.
Huge thank you to everyone who had a hand in hosting and running this show:
Eric Hoberg, Gillian Shannon, Bri Kvinge, Quinn Lawrence, Clay Stephenson, Stirling Hart, Scott Kuehn, and the entire UM Woodsmen team.

Several ALA officers and members participated at the Sierra Cascade Logging Conference this past weekend. They helped put on a college competition and helped train students in logging sports techniques. They also put on 2 education shows for over 600 4th & 5th graders and did a full professional lumberjack demonstration for conference attendees!

Brains and bellies were filled this weekend at the Taylor residence!
Members from California, Nevada, Oregon, and Montana attended this training weekend where Wes Palmer gave chopping demos, and Jim gave instructions and worked with competitors on sawing. Jim also gave a tour of the saw shop where he shared some knowledge about filing. Bear Goulter cooked lunch and dinner for everyone.

Thank you to Jim and Carol Taylor and to everyone involved in putting this weekend together!
