💜 A Moment I’ll Never Forget 💜

Jocelyn’s teacher shared a school assignment with me that completely touched my heart. The assignment asked students to write about someone who had made a positive impact on their lives, and Jocelyn chose to write about Ms Samantha and her dance journey and experience at UMF.

Then, not long after, Jocelyn’s mom shared another school project with me. When asked what she wanted to be when she grows up, Jocelyn listed a softball coach, and a pharmacist. At the bottom, she added something that brought tears to my eyes:

“And a Dance Teacher for Ms. Sam.”

Jocelyn, thank you for reminding me why this work matters so much.

Dance is about so much more than learning steps and performing on stage. It’s about building confidence, creating friendships, learning perseverance, and discovering who you are. Watching you grow throughout your dance journey has been an absolute privilege.

Your kindness, determination, and love for dance shine every time you walk through our doors. I am so proud of how hard you work and the joy you bring to our studio family.

Thank you to Jocelyn’s teacher and mom for sharing these special moments with me. They are reminders that what we do inside the studio reaches far beyond the dance floor.

🌸💐 Giving Back to Our Community 💐🌸

After an incredible recital weekend, Miss Samantha and Miss Olivia had the privilege of delivering and donating all of our remaining recital flowers to the residents at Colonial Health & Rehabilitation.

What started as a celebration for our dancers became an opportunity to spread a little extra joy throughout our community. Seeing the smiles these beautiful flowers brought to residents was the perfect ending to a wonderful season.

At UMF, we believe dance is about more than steps and performances—it’s about kindness, connection, and making a positive impact wherever we can.

Thank you to all of our families who supported our flower sales this recital season. Because of you, we were able to brighten someone else’s day, too. 💖

💕 When Local Businesses Lift Up Local Kids

Sometimes, you meet people who remind you exactly why community matters.

I want to give a huge thank you to Kirsti and Justin at Clemy Exterior Cleaning for the incredible generosity they have shown to our UMF families.

At UMF, we believe every child deserves the opportunity to experience the confidence, friendships, joy, and sense of belonging that dance can provide. Sometimes families face challenges that make continuing those opportunities difficult, which is why acts of kindness like this mean so much.

To see another local business believe in that mission enough to give back in such a meaningful way is truly humbling.

Throughout the month of June, Clemy Exterior Cleaning is donating 10% of every home cleaning booked to help UMF families who may need assistance with dance tuition. Their kindness will help ensure that more children can continue doing what they love.

As a small business owner, I know firsthand how much heart, hard work, and sacrifice goes into running a business. Supporting local businesses truly matters because when we support each other, our entire community becomes stronger.

After months of hard work, countless rehearsals, costume changes, happy tears, big accomplishments, and so much growth, our dancers are finally ready to take the stage for our 6th Annual UMF Recital: BELIEVE! 💜

Today, dancers of all ages will step onto that stage and share their hearts with all of you. From our tiniest dancers taking their very first recital steps to our high school performers who have grown up right before our eyes, every single dancer has a story to tell.

BELIEVE is more than just this year’s recital theme. It’s the foundation of everything we do at UMF.

🎓✨ From tiny dance shoes and first recital nerves to confidence, strength, and unforgettable memories… our 8th Grade Graduates are officially moving on to high school! ✨🎓

Watching these girls grow up inside the walls of UMF has been such a special part of our journey. We’ve watched them learn, stumble, succeed, laugh, perform, and become incredible young women right before our eyes.
