🚨Bald Mountain Trail Closure 🚨

The Bald Mountain Trail will close for the season on Monday, August 31. This trail operates under a temporary revokable permit with NYSDEC and a private landowner, so once it’s closed, it’s important that riders stay off the trail.

The Lee Gulf Trail has steep hills and challenging terrain. When the trail is wet, traction can be lost easily. For your safety and the safety of others, please use 4‑wheel drive when traveling on this trail.

Crews were out grooming and freshening up the trails in the Commons area today — smoothing sections, clearing growth, and making the trails even better.

Thank you to everyone who came out to the Lowville Firehall last night for the first Rail Trail Public Session! 🚂✨

The room was packed — so much so that we had to use the Firehall’s camera just to capture the whole crowd. Your feedback, questions, and ideas made the night incredibly valuable.

Lewis County and Creighton Manning will host a public meeting to gather input and share updates on the Rail Trail Master Plan, which explores converting 25 miles of former railroad corridor into a multi‑use trail system.
