A current sports physical MUST be turned in before you can participate in clinic/tryouts.

Physicals should be turned in to the HMS Athletic Office located in the main office. You may also email your physical or fax it.

📣 HARLEM MIDDLE SCHOOL CHEER TRYOUT REMINDER! 🧡🖤🐾

Hello everyone!

I have sent an email to everyone who is currently registered for tryouts. If you are planning to try out and did NOT receive an email, you may not be registered properly or I may not have your information. Please reach out to me as soon as possible so we can make sure everything is completed before tryouts!

📣 TRYOUT REQUIREMENTS

In order to be eligible to try out, athletes MUST complete ALL of the following:

🐾 Attend BOTH Tuesday AND Thursday tryout dates.

🐾 Have a Grade Sheet completed by EACH teacher. Grade sheets are available in the HMS Main Office. Please ask for Paula, our Athletic Secretary.

🐾 Have an up-to-date sports physical on file.

🐾 Be registered through SNAP using the link below.

🐾 Complete the Cheer Google Form using the link below.

🐾 Be in good academic and behavioral standing.

⚠️ Please make sure ALL requirements are completed prior to tryouts. Missing requirements may prevent an athlete from being eligible to participate.

📣A huge thank you to Illinois Cheerleading Coaches Association - ICCA for providing this FREE clinic and investing in our athletes and coaches. Opportunities like this ensure our athletes are learning from the very best as we kick off a new season, while keeping coaches informed on the latest updates from ICCA, IHSA, and IESA.

Thank you, Val Mallon, for sharing an official’s perspective. It is always so valuable to hear the sport through the eyes of an official!

Thank you to Coach Mika for hosting and, as always, making everyone feel so welcome.

A big thank you to NIU Cheer for teaching safe stunting techniques and sharing your knowledge with all of our athletes.

Thank you to Coach Lindsey Garcia and the amazing team from Soul Dance Connection for teaching fun choreography and reinforcing the importance of performance, precision, and hitting every count.
