Yesterday our brother, Romario “Ro” Romain, passed away in a tragic car accident. His dogs — Mo, Jyn, Xander, and Zyn — were with him and passed as well.
To know Ro was to love him.
For many of us, this club is more than a place we train — it’s family. We spend countless hours together, going through life side by side. Over the years you see every side of a person, and you learn who they truly are.
Ro was truly one of the best human beings on the planet.
He showed up every day smiling, cracking jokes, and lifting everyone around him up. Even when he was going through things of his own, his positivity never left him. He believed in us — as a team and as individuals — and he cared deeply about every dog and every journey.
As a decoy, he was powerful yet fair.
As a trainer, he had incredible feel and knowledge, and he never stopped learning or sharing what he knew.
Watching Mo, Jyn, Xander, and Zyn grow with him has been an honor. If our dogs are a reflection of us, then his reflection was as beautiful as it gets.
More than anything, Ro was the kind of person the world needs right now. He respected everyone, didn’t gossip, always tried to understand others, and truly loved the people around him.
One of the hardest parts is that he was just stepping into his prime — personally and professionally. His future was so bright.
It doesn’t feel fair.
This morning in Colorado we woke up to snow and gray skies. It feels like even the weather is mourning him.
We are so grateful for all of the messages, calls, and prayers.
Rest easy, Ro. We will carry your light forward.
