I'm tired of hearing people say "I'm not taking those class unless the department pays me to take them."

"I'm not gonna go do that lecture we need for promotion, can't they make it online for me to watch"

Guess what you have to do to be a Lawyer? You go to $!@ #% law school.

We must stop making excuses and take charge of our careers. Own it!! Or, we continue to wait for the handout and let other pass us by. No thanks!

The last few weeks of our open application period is coming to an end May 31st. The Firefighter Recruit Academy for our rapid response program is set to begin mid June. If interested visit one of our 8 firehouses for an application.

The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire District is now accepting applications for volunteer firefighter. Candidates must submit an application packet that can be downloaded online (prpfire.org), or picked up at our district headquarters (9500 Stonestreet Rd.) or at our district training center (8201 Greenwood Rd.).

Applicants must:
-possess a high school diploma or state-recognized equivalent
-possess valid driver's license
-possess proof of automobile insurance

Before regular membership, candidates that successfully complete the recruit academy must:
-pass "fit for duty" physical examinations
-pass pre-employment drug screenings.

Completed applications must be returned to district headquarters by June 1, 2018 at 1600 hours. Classes are expected to start June 11, 2018.

The Pleasure Ridge Park Fire Protection District is one of seventeen volunteer and career departments that make up the Jefferson County Fire Service.
