Saturday in the Park… we know it’s on 18th of July! 🌳🎉
Get ready to relive your favorite childhood moments with an egg toss, arts and crafts, and classic yard games. Come hang out with the amazing teams from Louisville Parks and Recreation and get to know what we do! We will have live music and food trucks too!

Kids can check out real mowers up close, chat with our Urban Forestry crew about all things trees, and discover plenty of hands-on fun along the way. We’ve got something for everyone, so bring the whole family and join the fun! ☀️

🌳 Last night’s storms left their mark across our park system, bringing down trees and large limbs throughout our parks and shared spaces. One of the hardest-hit areas was Fern Creek Park, where a fallen tree crashed into the concession stand.
👷‍♂️Our engineers are currently assessing the damage before our urban forestry team can remove the tree. Meanwhile, our maintenance team is working to clear other debris so our parks can be safely enjoyed again as soon as possible.
📱If you're out and about, please use caution and help us keep the community safe by reporting any downed trees or other hazardous conditions to Metro 311.

⛈️🌳 Storms with heavy rain and high winds are expected later tonight. As you head outside, please be mindful in wooded areas and around large trees.

If you come across a downed tree or hazardous conditions, report it to Metro 311. These reports help our Urban Forestry team prioritize the most urgent safety issues and respond as quickly as possible. Be sure to include the location and any relevant details to assist with inspection.

Mark your calendars for Saturday for Wicked For Good (a sing‑along version), our next Hollywood Classics Under the Stars at Iroquois Amphitheater! We’ll see who can cast their best Elphaba spells or hit the high notes like Glinda.

Game, set, court improvements! 🎾
👷 Construction is underway at several of our parks this summer. Auburndale, Shawnee, and Petersburg parks are all getting brand new tennis courts.
☀️Investing in our parks keeps our community healthier, safer, and more connected. We cannot wait for you to enjoy them. All courts are expected to open by the end of the summer.
🚧Seneca and Shelby getting renovated later this year, make sure to stay tuned.
