All good things must come to an end and Wild and Woolly Pilates will have its last day on June 27th 2025. It’s been a good run.
My lease is up for renewal on July 1st and while the rent increase wasn’t huge, it gave me time to think about whether or not it made sense to continue with the business.
At the end of the day, the short version of why I’m closing is “too many hours, not enough money”. While the business has been profitable pretty much since it opened, I have not been able to get it to be profitable enough to consider it a “real living”. Obviously COVID threw things for a loop but at the end of the day the buck stops with me and I just haven’t been able to get things where I want them to be. Meanwhile I’m here from 8 AM till 7 PM at least 4 days a week and sometimes on Saturdays and it no longer makes sense to me. I also miss being part of a team and working with others and hope to do that again. I would also like to make more money so I can help my kids out financially here and there as they get older.
I will be selling most of my equipment, so reach out if you are interested. Current clients and people in Louisville will get first dibs on things. The reformers may already be spoken for, but still feel free to ask. We may end up having to draw names or something.
For the first time in over 25 years, I’m going to put myself out there and see what kinds of jobs might suit my skills, so if you know of any job openings, please let me know and I’ll send you my resume. Based on some career counseling I did, working with computers might be an area I explore, so I’m looking into IT/Cybersecurity training. If you work in those fields feel free to give me advice and ideas.
Thanks
