Sun Valley golfers… we’ve got a LOT cookin’. 🏌️♂️⛳️
There’s been so much work happening behind the scenes, and even more is on deck, so here’s your quick rundown of all the good things in motion:
Course Improvements Already Underway
• Parks has purchased brand-new course trash cans that’ll replace those old barrels next season a small change that’s gonna make a big visual difference.
• The parking lot lines at both the golf course and Sun Valley Community Center just got a full refresh… and honestly, it looks sharp.
• We’ve already completed a major erosion-control project behind Green #13, including a full retention cage/wall huge win for long-term course stability.
• MSD has been out reinforcing erosion around the hole #10 bridge/culvert, plus the exit from #13 heading toward tee #14.
Grounds Work
• We’re continuing the recovery plan for the greens, slowly bringing them back to the condition players deserve.
• A full assessment of the course is coming soon, and once we wrap that, we’ll be sending all tree-related needs straight to the Forestry team.
• The natural area between holes 1, 2, and 4 will stay as is for now it’s a wild zone that would take major equipment to clear, and even then it tends to grow right back.
• Vegetation along the creeks helps stabilize the banks, but we’re giving everything another close look especially around hole #15 to make sure nothing is impacting play.
🛠️ Projects in the Pipeline
• We’ve got a plan to regrade the knolls between holes 15 and 17 scheduling is still in progress, but it’s coming.
• The crew is gearing up for winter projects: repainting tee markers, cutting down ornamental grasses, tidying natural areas, equipment repairs, preventive maintenance… basically all the stuff that keeps the course healthy and ready for spring.
Bottom line? We’re investing, we’re fixing, we’re cleaning up, and we’re pushing Sun Valley in the right direction.
More updates coming as each piece moves forward! 🌤️⛳️
