🏁 MICRO SPRINT HUB DRIVER SPOTLIGHT🏁

Today’s spotlight takes us to Louisburg, Kansas, to highlight 12-year-old Luke Shelton.

Luke has recorded 14 feature starts, with an impressive 4 top-five finishes and 10 top-ten finishes. With 10 top-ten finishes in 14 starts, Luke has shown strong consistency while continuing to gain valuable experience behind the wheel.

At just 12 years old, Luke is building the foundation for his racing career one lap at a time. Every feature provides another opportunity to learn, develop his racecraft, and continue working toward his first feature victory.

When it comes to his favorites, Knoxville is Luke’s favorite track, while Rico Abreu is his favorite driver.

Luke is one of the young drivers continuing to gain experience and make his way through the Micro Sprint ranks, and we’ll be following along as he continues to develop and chase his next milestone.

Well sometimes luck isn't on your side. Luke started 8th in the feature and was running 5th. He was ripping the lip really well the whole race when he went into the corner and he heard a pop and luckily he kept it upright and out of the wall. Any guesses what that pop was? Broken torsion stop!

This weekend wasn’t easy. Running with some of the best drivers in the country while still learning a new class can feel pretty demoralizing, especially when the speed just isn’t there. I made a setup change at the shop that ended up being too big of a swing, and combined with tricky dry‑slick conditions, it put us behind before we even unloaded.

But even though we left the track frustrated, and defeated. I learned more this weekend than I have in a long time. I’m starting to understand what the car needs, what Luke needs, and how small decisions can make big differences. I’m committed to getting better and giving Luke a car he can race hard with.

Night #2 of the Summer Send Off at Sweet Springs! Night #1 was a rough one. Luke had his first really down night since moving up to micros. He struggled trying to find his racing lines all night and it really got in his head. Today is a new day and he is ready to make some driving adjustments and get faster. Hopefully dad can keep up with the car adjustments.
