APSN 2026 First Team Softball Selections
APSN is proud to announce its 2026 First Team Softball selections. This year’s team features 16 of the top players in Eastern Kentucky, highlighted by dominant pitchers, powerful hitters, and all-around performers who helped lead their teams to successful seasons.
• Molly Fahm, Pitcher, Belfry
Fahm was one of the region’s most dominant two-way players this season. At the plate, she hit .554 with 46 hits, 43 runs scored, 32 RBIs, 12 doubles, two triples, and 11 home runs. In the circle, she posted a 2.15 ERA with 286 strikeouts and 16 victories, making her one of the most complete players in Eastern Kentucky.
• Taylor Blevins, Pitcher, Lawrence County
Blevins anchored Lawrence County’s pitching staff while contributing offensively. She finished the season with a .378 batting average, 28 hits, 23 RBIs, and 23 runs scored. In the circle, she recorded a stellar 1.52 ERA and struck out 149 batters in 133.2 innings, helping lead the Bulldogs throughout the season.
• Chellsea Holbrook, Pitcher, Shelby Valley
Holbrook excelled both offensively and defensively for Shelby Valley. She batted .473 with 35 hits, 39 runs scored, 22 RBIs, 12 doubles, three triples, and a home run. As a pitcher, she posted a 2.99 ERA and accumulated 158 strikeouts, establishing herself as one of the area’s top pitchers.
• Shelby Arnett, Infield, Johnson Central
Arnett was a major force in the Johnson Central lineup, batting .421 with 48 hits, 42 runs scored, 36 RBIs, eight doubles, seven triples, and eight home runs. Her combination of power and speed made her one of the most dangerous hitters in the region.
• Kenley Crum, Infield, Pike County Central
Crum earned APSN First Team honors after putting together an outstanding freshman campaign for Pike County Central. She batted .408 with 42 hits, 44 RBIs, 26 runs scored, 11 doubles, one triple, and seven home runs in 34 games. Her combination of power and run production made her one of the most impactful young players in the region and a key contributor to the Hawks’ success throughout the season.
• Brooklyn Hensley, Infield, Pikeville
Hensley continued her outstanding career at Pikeville by batting .413 with 45 hits, 33 runs scored, 31 RBIs, 12 doubles, two triples, and four home runs. Her ability to produce in key situations made her a valuable contributor for the Panthers.
•Hannah Jarrell, Infield, Betsy Layne
Jarrell was among the region’s most productive hitters, batting .490 with 47 hits, 42 runs scored, 25 RBIs, 11 doubles, six triples, and a home run. Her all-around offensive production earned her a place on the First Team.
•Jayden Jarrell, Infield, Betsy Layne
Jayden Jarrell had an amazing Junior season batting .449 with 40 hits, 26 runs scored, 32 RBIs, 13 doubles, and six triples. Her all-around offensive production earned her a place on the First Team.
• Raegan Laferty, Infield, Floyd Central
Laferty delivered another exceptional season for Floyd Central, hitting .443 with 47 hits, 38 runs scored, 44 RBIs, seven doubles, two triples, and three home runs. She consistently came through in big moments for the Jaguars.
• Caleigh McCoy, Infield, Phelps
McCoy was one of the area’s top run producers, batting .431 with 31 hits, 29 runs scored, 36 RBIs, five doubles, eight triples, and eight home runs. Her combination of power and extra-base production made her a key part of the Phelps lineup.
• Maggie Music, Infield, Paintsville
Music turned in a tremendous season for Paintsville, batting .494 with 40 hits, 41 runs scored, 40 RBIs, 11 doubles, one triple, and six home runs. Her ability to drive in runs and hit for average made her one of the Tigers’ most valuable players.
• Cadyn Roberson, Infield, Floyd Central
Roberson was one of the top hitters in the region, posting a .515 batting average with 53 hits, 45 runs scored, 27 RBIs, 11 doubles, and a triple. Her consistency at the plate helped power Floyd Central’s offense all season long.
• Catharine Walters, Infield, Pikeville
Walters put together an outstanding season, batting .452 with 56 hits, 42 runs scored, 23 RBIs, eight doubles, three triples, and consistently setting the tone atop the Pikeville lineup. Her offensive production helped lead the Panthers throughout the season.
• Emalynn Kitts, Outfield, Lawrence County
Kitts was one of the area’s premier offensive players, hitting .450 with 50 hits, 49 runs scored, 38 RBIs, 14 doubles, four triples, and 10 home runs. Her ability to hit for power and average made her a constant threat.
• Jada Patton, Outfield, Lawrence County
Patton had a breakout season, batting .477 with 52 hits, 56 runs scored, 49 RBIs, eight doubles, five triples, and 10 home runs. Her production helped make Lawrence County one of the region’s top offensive teams.
• Bentley Smith, Outfield, Paintsville
Smith rounded out the First Team after hitting .490 with 50 hits, 40 runs scored, 21 RBIs, 10 doubles, four triples, and a home run. Her ability to consistently reach base and generate offense was instrumental to Paintsville’s success.
Congratulations to all 16 athletes selected to the 2026 APSN First Team Softball Team. Their performances throughout the season represent the highest level of softball excellence across the region.
