Saugeyes showed both the ability to dominate when everything is clicking in the first game, winning 11-0 against the Olentangy Baseball Club, and the ability to come back with resilience in the second game.

In the first game Chase set the tone on the mound (2 IP, 5 Ks, O ER), while Linc and Grady delivered key extra base hits. Maddox smashed a bomb and Trace had a big hit to spark the huge fist inning. Isaiah added multiple hits and 2 stolen bases. Jensen closed things out pitching 2 scoreless innings to complete the team win.

More importantly the Saugeyes showed the ability to respond when things were not going their way in the second game. After being down 7-0 after 2 innings the Saugeyes stayed resilient. Jackson settled in on the mound (3IP, 6 Ks, 0 ER) in relief with solid defense. Beckett added 2 stolen bases, and the lineup stayed disciplined with 6 walks. The Saugeyes played even the last 3 innings, losing 8-1 in the silver bracket championship.

18 outs mentality. This group keeps learning, responding, and getting better every inning.

Saugeyes opened the season with a solid 11–9 win last night.

Flashes of what we’re building. Great defensive moments, including a big time 4-3-2 double play to shut things down in the 1st. Lots of hard hit baseballs and big RBIs.

We threw strikes (59%), and got more free passes than our opponents.

Lots to work on as always with a continued growth mindset on this journey to become great individuals, teammates, and baseball players.
