In March of 1992, Jeff Czarnec and Bernie Hirth chair the league inaugural meeting. At this meeting, an adult baseball league in New Hampshire is formed. The new league was set to begin with four teams playing as part of the MSBL. MSBL president Steve Ziegler attended the meeting but the group from New Hampshire decided to be a part of the Roy Hobbs league with the support of Roy Hobb’s Kevin McBernie. The four teams were Concord Capitals, Manchester Yankees, Manchester Red Sox and the Nashua A’s. The new league did not have a name for the inaugural season but started play in June on Sunday mornings. Throughout the first summer the league experienced significant growth as word spread. Teams were added throughout the summer and when the dust settled by Labor Day there were seven teams to end the season. In 2013 the SNHBL merged with the GSBL to add a new GSBL18+ division. In 2021 the GSBL18+ division merged with the 28+ division to form one league. The GSBL is a non-profit adult wood bat baseball league in New Hampshire.
