Fire 🔥 up the Jets he’s headed to Cherry Hills. William “W***y” Walsh (Pepperdine) qualifies for the USGA Amateur Championship at Bear Creek GC in Murrieta, CA with rounds of 68-74 (-2). This makes two USGA Championships in the next two months. The USGA Junior Amateur and now the USGA Amateur. A special thanks to Matt Kilgariff for being there on the bag for him and Jeremiah Wooding (UNLV, Korn Ferry) for the amazing course note. We are all very proud of this young man. Congrats W***y !!!

William “W***y” Walsh (2023, Pepperdine commit) takes Top Honors in the Silicon Valley Amateur Championship with rounds of 66-68 (-10). Great seeing this young man stay patient and in the present for the past two days. Never getting rattle and bothered by the outcome of one shot. The driver was on point and the putter was money. Speed control was the best that I’ve ever seen. In the words of Mark Wiebe, the best putter wins. Keep up the good work W***y !!! We are very proud of you.

Jonathan (JZ) Zhang (2024) finishes T-6 in the JTNC Winter Series I at Del Monte GC and Pacific Grove GC with rounds of 74 (PG) and 73 (DM) for a two day total of +5. JZ is really doing some good stuff on the golf course. His last three events have all been inside the top 10. In his last 22 rounds of play he’s only shot higher than 76 three times, with two rounds under par. He is really finding his way to being a great player. Great job Jonathan !!! Your hard work on the golf course and in the classroom is really starting to pay off. We are very proud of you.

William “W***y” Walsh (2023, Pepperdine commit) finishes T-6 in the IMG Junior Word Championship at Torrey Pines - South Course with rounds of 72-71-71-73 (-1). Can’t say enough about this young man. He went through some struggles with his game over the past month. W***y stuck with it while restructuring his practice routine, mental awareness, and controlling how things were to be done. To turn things back on track with a golf course as challenging as the South Course with a strong competitive field shows the mental toughness of this young man. Keep up the good work W***y !!! We are very proud of you.

Jay Gould-Healy (2022) inks with the University of Oregon. A solid player with a ton of talent who won the Singapore Junior Masters Championship. We are looking forward to watching this young man take the next step under the guidance of Casey Martin and his assistant coach Jeff Quinney. Great job Jay !!! We’re very proud of you.

Four of our young men qualified for the California State Amateur Championship at San Jose Country Club. They are Kevin Sze (Harvard) 69, William Walsh (2023) 70, Justin Polk (USF / Transfer Portal) 70, and Anthony White (2024).

This will be Kevin and Justin’s second trip to the Cal-State Am. The last one was at Torrey Pines. William and Anthony will have The Preserve for their first appearance.

I want to thank the people that have played a major role in assisting them with attaining their goals. These silent partners include Mike Kim (Director of Instruction at San Jose Country Club), Matt Kilgariff (Director of Instruction at The Bridges Rancho Santa Fe), Mark Wiebe (Instructor with 30 years experience on the PGA Tour / Verde River Golf Club in Rio Verde, AZ ), Scott Fawcett (Decade), and Joe Kwok (Club fitter).

William Walsh (2023) takes Top Honors in the 12th FCG Las Vegas Junior Championship with scores of 65-66 (-13), and qualifies for the IMG Junior World Championship. The round included 1 eagle, 12 birdies, and 1 bogie. W***y was 8 under par on the par 5’s, 4 under par on the par 4’s, and 1 under par on the par 3’s. On the 6th hole of the first round W***y put his foot on the accelerator and never let up. Sticking to his game plan and never letting a single shot interfere the plan. Low round in round 1 with a 65, and tied for the low round in round 2 with 66. Awesome job W***y !!! We’re very proud of you.

Cameron Keith (2022) takes Top Honors in the JGAA Bryce Molder Invitational Junior Championship with scores of 68-68 (-8). He was 8 under par on the par 5’s and 1 under par on the par 4’s.
