The smartest transfer business isn’t always about selling your best player.
PSG may have just delivered one of the most impressive examples of squad value creation in modern football.
During the 2026 summer window, six players permanently left the club, generating reported transfer value of around €400M:
• Bradley Barcola — €145M | signed for €45M
• Ibrahim Mbaye — up to €60M | academy graduate
• Noham Kamara — €4.1M | academy graduate
• Lee Kang-in — up to €40M | signed for €22M
• Randal Kolo Muani — €50M + previous loan income | signed for €75M + bonuses
• Gonçalo Ramos — €75M + up to €15M in bonuses | signed for €65M + bonuses
What makes this really interesting isn’t just the money.
PSG generated this level of value while maintaining the core of a team that has won back-to-back Champions League titles. (El País)
As a football agent, this is the part that stands out to me.
Recruitment. Development. Contract strategy. Timing. Market positioning.
The biggest transfer opportunities are often created years before the actual transfer takes place.
For clubs: develop assets without compromising performance.
For players: build a career that creates options.
For agents: don’t just look for the next transfer. Build the value that makes the next transfer possible.
That is increasingly what modern football representation is about.
