🚨 LET’S DEFEND OUR SPACE FOR YOUTH AND THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY! 🚨
Today we raise our voices to protect the Universal Soccer League at Rio de Los Angeles State Park.
Since the park first opened, this league has been a fundamental pillar of our community. It’s not just soccer. It’s prevention. It’s structure. It’s guidance. It’s a real opportunity for children, youth, and adults.
The Universal Soccer League provides:
⚽ Youth and children’s leagues that keep our kids off the streets
⚽ Protection from gang and drug influence
⚽ Teaching of discipline, teamwork, and respect
⚽ Development of responsible young leaders
⚽ Adult leagues where parents and community members:
• Stay active and healthy
• Participate in a safe and organized environment
• Set a positive example for the next generation
• Strengthen unity and community pride
In neighborhoods where many children face daily risks, organized sports are not entertainment — they are real prevention.
It gives them direction.
It gives them purpose.
It gives them a place to belong.
Additionally, the league has actively contributed to Glassell Park and Cypress Park, expanding its positive impact to even more sectors of our community.
Eliminating this program is not just canceling games.
It is taking opportunities away from our children.
It is weakening healthy spaces for adults.
It directly affects entire families.
We respectfully ask our authorities to reconsider any action that puts this program at risk. Our community needs spaces that build, protect, and strengthen.
⚽ Our children deserve protection.
⚽ Our adults deserve healthy spaces.
⚽ Our community deserves stability and opportunity.
