Yesterday was CA Budogu member Dennis’ last practice as a student at the Kendo Club at UCI. Dennis started Kendo at UCI just a couple of years ago, but he has already visited more Dojos, both in the US and abroad, than most Kendoka— one of the many reasons we were so excited to welcome him the CA Budogu family 😊

Dennis will be studying abroad in Japan for his final quarter as a student, and we can’t wait to see how much his Kendo improves✨🇯🇵

The 1st AOKC has officially come to an end! A huge congratulations to Kai for making it to the Top 16 in the individual division and Top 8 representing the New Zealand National Team this weekend✨🇳🇿

Day one of Kai representing the New Zealand National Team at the 1st Asia Oceania Kendo Championships (1AOKC)!! Kai fought hard against opponents from Mongolia, Vietnam, and Thailand, making it all to the Top 16. He’ll be representing New Zealand once more in the team division tomorrow✨🇳🇿

Kai also had the chance to meet with Shingo Ando, CEO of our main Bogu manufacturer, Matsukan. We are proud to be the ONLY international bogu shop selling to the United States that works directly with Matsukan, a manufacturer with over a century of experience. Thank you, Kai, for meeting with both Matsukan and Watoku this week and helping strengthen our partnerships 😊

Yesterday, he brought members of the New Zealand Kendo Team to one of our main suppliers, Watoku, and met up with CA Budogu team member, Eri 😊
