Every year on the first Saturday of November for over 10+ years my Super Bingo family have worked hard to put on the biggest fundraiser to support to raise money for the designated cause that year. Unfortunately because of the pandemic our Japanese community center that has been such a huge part of my life has been closed for the past 8 months. Define miss seeing everyone and will miss the craziness of Super Bingo.
A lot of the members are seniors and it has been difficult for our members to be able to stay connected. Our leadership at SFVJACC has worked very hard to keep our seniors and everyone connected.
So this year they still wanted to put on a Super Bingo event but in a very different way due to the pandemic. Here’s to Pandemic Super Bingo!!!! Virtual style!!! It’s different but a a way to still bring some fun on this Saturday night!

First homemade...well partial homemade costume in the books!!! 🤣 thanks to my mama for helping me out with the shorts. I have been trying to learn how to sew and my mama has been teaching me. How did I do???
My son is obsessed with Mickey so I decided kinda last minute on what to do. Fortunately it worked out. My son has no idea why he is Mickey but he is happy and that is all that matters 😂😂😆😆.

Yessssssss sirrrrrrrrr! Goooooo LAKERS! Lebron James...it is amazing what this man is doing after 17 years in the league. I don’t care what people say but that man GOOD!!!! And when people say that this champion doesn’t count...they just hatin! So many people have sacrificed so much to make the NBA bubble happen. Not just the players and coaching staff but all the personnel that it took to maintain the level of security and maintaining safety with COVID-19 and cleanliness. This championship is not an asterisk and I know KOBE was there with them in spirit all the way. For mamba and mambacita 😘

I DID IT! Not me...but MY HUSBAND DID IT! This past May my husband completed law school and received the infamous Juris Doctorate! It has been a long journey for my husband and it is not quite yet done but almost done. My husband was finally able to sit for the California Bar Exam earlier this week. He was originally supposed to take it in July, but it kept getting pushed back due to COVID-19. I am so proud of my husband for sticking to his study plan and enacting crazy discipline to stay focused on his goal. For all my lawyer friends and spouses of lawyers, you know what I am talking about with the highs and lows of law school and studying for the bar.
My husband is soooo close to his dream job and once he passes the Bar he will have achieved his DREAM GOAL. I can remember when my husband told me that when he was on a basketball recruiting trip getting ready to transfer out of his junior college, he was asked by a coach what he wanted to do after basketball. My husband replied, "I want to be a lawyer" and the coach replied, "Is that really a realistic goal?" My husband was a star athlete, he is black, and people wanted him to focus on playing his sport. That one coach, whether it was his remark was meant to be condescending or just a honest question....it made my husband think becoming a lawyer was never possible so he didn't give it another thought until a year after we got married. Things fell into place and he realized that becoming a lawyer was in fact possible and I was not going to get in the way of him achieving his dream goal.
Hubby...you are so close to achieving your dream....KEEP AT IT??? Yes SIR!!!

OMG I need a haircut! Who else is in the same boat? 😂 My hair is getting so long it is getting too heavy for my usual bun when working out. I know I haven’t been posting lately about my workouts or even which workout I am doing....BUT that doesn’t mean I am not doing them! 😝😉
Because in fact I have been doing them consistently still either early in the morning or when I get home from work. Lately I have been feeling more aches in my knees (old injuries from basketball) and have been alittle too slacked on my eating habits. So today I am committing to a new 3 week program to get me back on track. 😊
My goal is too not ache so much in my knees from extra weight I have added in my midsection and to build some muscle because working as an occupational therapist in a hospital is labor intensive at times! Right now our Acute Rehab is poppin! So I need to keep my immune system up and my physical strength intact to manage physically complex patients and the demands of the job. 👍👍

Happy birthday to my cuzzzzzzzzz! I wish we could celebrate together and eat our cake mashed up with ice cream like our mamas taught us...but keeping social distance still because of COVID.
I look back at pictures when we were little and saw how our mamas always liked to dress us like twins because we are so close in age..and we both don’t have sisters so we were that to each other.
Like all sisters we both went through that period where we hated and couldn’t stand each other where I punched, you kicked...I knocked your tooth out with a fly ball (that one was a true accident lol) and you always looking out for me and taking care of me like a big sis.
I can’t believe we both are now parenting together and have our families because I feel like we are still so young 🤣🤣😂😂...but I am thankful to have you by my side and do this thing called life together. Love ya cuzzzzzzzz!

Today on this holiday I am starting a new 3 week program focused on weight training. I am excited for and am excited for another program. Since I have started home workouts...pressing play in “my version of my gym” has been a lifesaver. Being a full time working mom my son is in daycare a lot so I did not want to have to put him in more “daycare” at the gym.
Having the flexibility of these programs have allowed me to fit it in on my schedule and I can maximize my time with my son when at home. Also, these workouts from home have kept me consistent with exercising when COVID-19 and shelter I place hit. If you’re still looking for flexibility in your schedule to fit in your workout...you should try them! ☺️ All you have to do is press play!

I did it!!! I finished and it feels oh so good! When I set a goal to complete 80 day obsession, I was super hesitant and did not know how I would get through it. The workouts were about an hour and I was worried I wouldn't be able to wake up earlier enough before work to do it. I was worried that my knees would not let me perform a lot of the moves. I was worried about a lot of things.
But what I realized during my 80 day obsession journey was that A BIG part of me completing my goal was the mental game. When I stopped playing the worrying game and started playing the "just do it" game...the workouts did not seem as big of an obstacle, waking up early became a part of my morning routine, and I became excited about my next workout.
My son is an early riser too and when he sees me get ready to workout and says, "mama work" it melts my heart and it lets me know that I am setting an example for him that prioritizing your mental and physical health is important. I also realized from my Super Trainer that I need to stop comparing myself to others and simply focus on my goals and what I need to do to achieve them.

My son is absolutely obsessed with Toy Story 4 🤣🤣 Everytime I turn on Disney+ that's his pick. So during no TV time...I was inspired by little Bonnie using the remains of "trash" and her creation in Forky!
Had my son work on his fine motor skills while tolerating glue on his hands creating emotions! That's for all my OT peeps out there ☺️☺️ He lost interest by the fourth one so the mouth expression is missing 😆😆

A family friend contacted me telling me her 97 year old father folded cranes to keep him busy during staying at home during the pandemic. He not only folded them but he strung the cranes so they could hung up. He also bagged all of them up individually to give to us. He is a one man assembly line! ☺️ His daughter had told me he wanted to donate to my staff and co-workers at the hospital to show us he is thinking of us and saying thank you for being healthcare workers.
BLESS HIS HEART! It is always so humbling to know that there such kind people out there wanting to show their appreciation for healthcare workers, especially during this pandemic. For those that are not familiar with the Japanese crane...it symbolizes longevity, love and good fortune.
Now I get to hang this up in my office! 😍😍😍

My husband has been studying so hard recently since the BAR exam is officially scheduled. He was supposed to take in the beginning of July, but they had been postponing it due to the pandemic. It was pushed to September and now officially October. Can you imagine studying endlessly without seeing the light at the end of the tunnel? But now he has an answer and can really hone in on his studying schedule. So I decided to surprise him with some baked cookies (chocolate chip and oreo), but also because it is our 5-year ANNIVERSARY! 😍
I like to bake to show my affection and appreciation towards others. It brings me joy when I can see they enjoy the sweets I baked for them. I know he will devour this whole plate lol. My love language is definitely acts of service for sure! I can never pick out a good gift for my husband, actually every time I have tried to get my husband a gift it has been an utter failure lol. I know he enjoys my baking…so that is my gift to him! ☺️
