The pins and needles. The ball of nerves before a first date. The exhaustion of feeling like you only meet the wrong ones. 💔

You could be attaching high stakes to each dating experience. And that could be tripping you up.

The Buddhist teaching of impermanence changed my entire approach to dating — and gave me so much relaxation and ease.

What if your next date was your last?

Act as if — and notice what shifts. 🙏

We're not doing this reflection because we're dreading an inevitable end. We're doing it to calm our anxiety and release the high stakes around the connection itself.

And then we get to do it all over again when the next date comes along.

(And if you're on a date with someone you really don't like? The idea of impermanence can be a saving grace — reminding you that this is just a blip on your dating radar 🤪).

Have you ever been on the receiving end of that message, dear one?

Maybe it wasn't said out loud.

A well-meaning friend suggesting you "just be happy with what you have."

The subtle subtext that your vision of romantic love is somehow flawed. Or taking too long. Or just not meant for you. 💔

I received that messaging a lot while I was single.
