Just because we graduated doesn’t mean we’re done learning 👀

In this episode, we’re talking about what it means to continue your education after college...especially as first-generation graduates who may not have grown up with a roadmap for what comes next.

And because we know education isn’t always accessible, we’re also sharing ways to keep learning without taking on thousands of dollars in student debt, from libraries and community events to podcasts, books, free courses, mentorship, and simply following your curiosity.

GEM LATAM, the Latin American branch of Global Empowerment Mission, provides rapid disaster response and humanitarian aid across the region—mobilizing food, water, essential supplies, and Family Necessity Kits while supporting communities through long-term recovery and rebuilding.

For Ixchel, becoming a yoga teacher is about more than learning how to teach a class. It’s also connected to her family, her upbringing, and the people who shaped the way she sees healing, movement, and community.

Her parents played an important role in that journey, and becoming a teacher has given her another way to honor where she comes from while creating something of her own.

We’re so grateful to have teachers who bring their whole selves into this practice. Their stories, their cultures, their families, and their lived experiences all become part of how they teach.

We’ve been quietly working on something new and we’re ready to announce our new program👀 Earlier this summer, we welcomed seven instructors into the inaugural People’s Yoga Residency Program—a new program designed to close the teaching gap in the wellness industry, and support new and emerging yoga and fitness instructors from certified to teaching.

7 instructors said yes to helping us build this first chapter. Now it’s time to introduce them. Introducing the inaugural class of the People’s Yoga Residency Program:

Our 2026 teacher training program - opening weekend is officially in the books. Spending time getting to know our trainees is always the highlight. The weekend started on Friday evening with orientation and dinner by Ülëw Coffee & Juice. On Saturday we immersed ourselves in a full day learning the foundations of yoga with Maya Siklai. We ended our weekend on Sunday learning about the skeletal system ☠️ with Andrea Valencia L.Ac., vocal exercises with L E A H R O S E, and a framework for teaching with Lauren Quan-Madrid🧘🏽‍♀️Follow along for more weekly updates and say hello to our new trainees when you see them in class. 👋🏽🫶🏽
