Reflection is actually a foundation of emotional intelligence and self-awareness.

Growth mindset is the capability to look at your surroundings, and gage whether people, things, or circumstances have changed.

It means double checking that the problem is correct before solution finding.

This is a wonderful quality for us over thinkers.

When my anticipation circuit starts to loop, I know that action is what keeps my anxiety at bay.

The equation looks like:
anticipation - action = anxiety

It’s not for everyone, but I have found that doing something, sometimes anything, is what allows my brain to short circuit that anxiety loop, and especially moving my body, creates bilateral movement, which helps the brain process.

Anxiety is a real bitch.

Bilateral stimulation is the FASTEST WAY to shake something overwhelming into more manageable, bite size pieces.

That’s because the left/right rhythm (eyes, feet, hands, etc) short circuits the anxiety loop and causes your brain to start looking at the facts over the storyboard.

Next time you feel overwhelm, try a 1O min walk and test how it changes your perspective.

Everyone has slip ups.

The process of healing is to, FORTUNATELY, take some steps forward and then, UNFORTUNATELY, some steps back.

Progress isn’t linear but as long as your goal is to try and find a way back to regulation, I see you working to heal.
