Diving 🤸

A few things to remember.
1. Dive in pools deeper than 6 feet. At least 7.5 ft if there’s a diving board.
(Of course many people can dive in shallower waters, but we’re teaching water safety).

2. Make sure to always encourage diving and jumping away from the wall.

3. Discourage running jumps. (I know children life them, but they’re are a recipe for slips and falls).

4. *If diving in shallower waters (under 6ft) , start with a sitting dive and have them dive and glide forward through the water, rather than downwards.

This little swimmer struggled to swim more than 3 ft on her own last year. With practice, time and maturity, she’s now swimming the length of her pool (approximately 20 yards). I’m so proud of her! 🐳💙🦋

When the Kool kid comes to swim Skool. 😎

One of the best things in life— watching kids transform from hesitance into their own confidence. Week by week, the light bulbs switch on and their joy for the water grows and their abilities compound. I’m so proud of all my little swimmers this summer, many of whom are under 4 and just learning to swim. To be able to give them such an important skill, which they discover is not only so much fun but totally possible, is priceless 💙☀️

I absolutely love my job. What a gift it is to share my love for the water with others. Parent and Me classes are a wonderful way to introduce children to formal swim lessons. Kids have the safety of their parent near by while they familiarize themselves to taking lessons from a new teacher. We sing songs, we play games, AND the kids and parents learn water safety skills. It’s really the best of both worlds.
