I am writing to share the detailed framework of my healing mission, which I have organized into four distinct phases of recovery and growth. This plan serves as the roadmap for my nine-month process to overcome burnout and rebuild my life through faith and therapeutic movement.
Phase 1: Acceptance & Safety
My journey begins with admitting the need for gentle repair and acknowledging burnout without shame. I am replacing social media with tangible tasks like scripture study, prayer, and "Real-World" activities. This phase also introduces "Gentle Stationary Skating," using protective gear as a psychological cue for safety to reduce the shock of external stressors.
Phase 2: Rebuilding Control
I am practicing controlled falls to address the fear of failure, followed by developing rhythmic mobility on smooth surfaces. By syncing deep breathing with my strides, I use roller skating as active meditation to move my nervous system out of a fight-or-flight state.
Phase 3: Reconnecting & Joy
This phase focuses on reaching a "flow state" where movement quiets the brain. By embracing the joy of skating for fun rather than fitness, I am reconnecting with my inner child and transforming emotional pain into physical momentum.
Phase 4: Reintegration & Resilience
The final stage involves joining the local skating community to reduce isolation. By mastering small goals on wheels, I am translating that resilience back into my daily life, using the mantra: "If I can balance here, I can handle this day."
While roller skating is a powerful tool for my spiritual and mental awakening, I recognize it is a complement to—not a replacement for—God’s word or professional medical care. I remain committed to this structured path of healing and thank you for your continued support as I seek partners to join me in this mission.
