Dennis Cante & Tanya Spektor are thrilled to have you here and can't wait to share our love for authentic Argentine Tango with you. Our dance school is all about creating a friendly and welcoming environment where you can learn and grow as a dancer. We offer two exciting programs to choose from: one for complete beginners, where we focus on teaching the basics, technique, and musicality of Tango,

and one for intermediate/advanced level dancers who are looking for a challenge. Our beginner program is designed to help you become a skillful social dancer in no time. We'll teach you everything you need to know to feel confident and comfortable on the dance floor. For more experienced dancers, our intermediate/advanced program is the perfect opportunity to improve your skills and learn complex sequences based on traditional Tango values and etiquette (codigos).

Our Story

Our Mission Is to educate people on traditional values and fundamental skills of authentic Argentine Tango.

Argentine Tango is a popular dance for two which originated at the end of the 19th century in Argentina and Uruguay. It is an interpretive, improvisational, romantic and elegant social dance that is also known as a “language of the heart”. The essence of authentic Argentine Tango is about life and relationship between two people and therefore allows the dancers to develop a deep connection between them and the music. In style and musicality, it is very different from American and International ballroom tango dancing. Dennis Cante Tango Academy’s curriculum is designed specifically towards gearing individuals in becoming skilled social dancers in authentic Argentine Tango, both salon and Milonguero styles. We offer two distinct programs. One is for the new dancers (complete beginners) and the second curriculum is for the advanced beginners who wish to transition to the intermediate level or intermediate dancers. We will help you shape your Tango foundation skills and technique by focusing on fundamental elements such as tango etiquette (codigos), posture, balance, musicality and walking. For the advanced beginners and intermediate dancers we will teach complex sequences and followers/leaders embellishments for social dancing. We will explore different orchestras and how these complex sequences can be executed using different musical tango rhythms. Today, Argentine Tango is popular worldwide and we would love to be a part of your Argentine Tango journey!

Our goal is to motivate, excite and nurture you into becoming an elegant and skilled Argentine Tango social dancer. We developed structured programs that will be implemented in the group classes setting where no partner is needed. We will make you aware of what physical skills are needed to properly execute Tango movements. During the group classes we will allocate some time to work with you individually, to answer all your questions and to help you understand the material better. We will provide practicas with the idea to create a safe space for you to practice, explore and improve your dance!

We will definitely push you to work harder and to come out of your comfort zone
