Body Music Workshop! Monday 10/28/24 7:30-10pm in Sherman Oaks

Ronaldo Crispim is one of the creators of Música do Círculo practice/methodology, training leaders of this practice inside & outside Brazil.
In this workshop, Ronaldo will bring his sense of play, joy and musicality, as participants learn various body percussion patterns & musical games, creating music together.

This workshop is hosted by David Joyce & Cathy Segal Garcia.

I am inviting YOU and yours...to our open circle music meeting, a practice of music and human development through collective musical improvisation and body percussion/movement, based on principles from the Instituto Música do Círculo, Rhiannon, Bobby McFerrin….. It's free, open to anyone, with participation completely optional and no previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to meet and dive into the fun of making music and connecting collectively. The focus is on building connection, community, creativity.

No need to consider yourself a "singer" to join us, and there's NO cost, either! Re-claim YOUR right to joyously sing and connect with others...

Below is an example of a "pre-determined flow"....going between various games of the brilliant methodology of "Musica do Circulo". We might even do THIS flow, on Saturday morning, in Woodley Park! :)

MUSIC OF THE CIRCLE…..

This Saturday, May 18th, from 10am till noon, we'll hold our open circle music meeting, a practice of music and human development through collective musical improvisation and body percussion/movement, based on principles from the "Instituto Música do Círculo", Rhiannon, Bobby McFerrin….. It's free, open to anyone, with participation completely optional and no previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to meet and dive into the fun of making music and connecting collectively. The focus is on building connection, community, creativity.

Open up to the music that already LIVES in you….we can each allow more creativity into our lives. There will be musical games & exercises, community-building, and definitely a fair amount of musical improvisation - it’s FUN! :). No prior experience is necessary.

Be prepared to PLAY, and MOVE, and SING (maybe even shout & make silly sounds :) ....and certainly…..get more connected to your sisters & brothers in song…..

Where: We will meet at the lovely Woodley park…. Message me for exact location.
When: We gather at 9:45, to find the spot, visit and get acclimated. We'll sing at 10am, until 12pm. (You’re welcome to come, anytime, but the beginning sets the tone). Snacks will be shared, on the break, around 11-ish. Wear comfortable clothes that allow movement. Afterwards, you might enjoy taking a walk around the beautiful, nearby Wildlife Preserve

Please invite your friends and loved ones to join us in the Circle….(no fees/costs). This is a Community event.... the more, the merrier.
