Downtown Soccer Club AKA Downtown LA Soccer Club is a register non-profit competitive youth soccer club serving downtown Los Angeles and surrounding neighborhoods. Downtown Soccer Club was formed in 2007 as Los Angeles Cosmos Soccer Club to serve immigrant neighborhoods immediately west of downtown Los Angeles (Pico-Union and Westlake). In 2011, the club expanded to serve the neighborhoods immed
iately east of downtown Los Angeles (Pico Aliso and Boyle Heights) and renamed itself, Downtown Soccer Club. In addition to those neighborhoods, current members of Downtown Soccer Club come from all over the Los Angeles metropolitan area, including Hollywood, Silverlake, Echo Park, Lincoln Heights, South Los Angeles, Bell Gardens, Lynwood and Long Beach. Games and training are held at parks and schools near downtown Los Angeles including Pecan Recreation Center, Mendez Learning Center, Belmont High School, Miguel Contreras Learning Center, Helen Bernstein High School and Virgil Middle School. Downtown Soccer Club is a non-profit organization managed by a board of directors and staff of professional soccer coaches and administrators.
