We often get asked about scale size and thickness (those are one inch increments on the right side for reference). This is our Bulwark Diamond scale shape. They’re pretty thick. Each scale has sculpted textures and a sloped beveled edge which makes for great lighting and shadowing effects, especially with metallic pigments or glittery top coats.

Our Scalloped Diamond shaped scales are a milder thickness and still have a subtle beveled edge, and the Petite Rounded scales are fairly thin while still highly detailed and textured. I’ll post some close-ups of those scale sheets soon next time we cast those designs.

In-between silicone curing and tail construction, we are working on a series of silicone mermaid tops with a special form-fitting interior shape! More information on that will be coming out pretty soon!
