From 13 to 18, I taught classes back home almost every week. At the time, it just felt like I was showing up, creating, and sharing what I loved.

Watching these videos back, I realize I was already building the foundation of the artist, teacher, and choreographer I am today. I was learning how to cultivate performance, develop my artistry, and create spaces where people could grow through movement.

Shoutout to my mom for documenting so much of this journey. Back then, we were just uploading videos to YouTube. Now I see those videos were a digital journal capturing the evolution of a kid with a dream into the man with a plan .

And a special happy birthday to Corey , my dance dad. HAPPY BIRTHDAY 🎉🎁🎊 I thank you for giving me a space to grow, teach, and lead. You saw something in me early on and helped nurture my love for dance, teaching, and choreography. A lot of who I am today was cultivated in those rooms.

Looking back, young Swagg was already preparing me for this chapter. ❤️✨

Watching this video always makes me smile.

I auditioned for the Warriors Jr. Jam Squad multiple times before I finally made it. At the time, I just wanted the opportunity. Looking back, that experience gave me something much bigger—it showed me that dancing wasn’t just something I loved, it could be something I built a life around.

Young me already knew.

He knew he wanted to perform.
He knew he wanted to entertain.
He knew he wanted to make a career out of movement.

I’m grateful I kept showing up long enough for the opportunity to find me. A reminder that sometimes the dream starts long before the results do.

Big shoutout to for holding it down. You was my second home away from home. It really took a village to make it all happen. You helped introduce me to other industry spaces at such a young age. Forever grateful ❤️🏆

I was so focused on one thing: kick the skateboard, catch it clean, and everything else would take care of itself. 😂🛹

I remember being so nervous about that moment. In my mind, if I landed it, the rest was smooth sailing.

Funny how life works the same way. Sometimes the biggest challenge is trusting yourself through the moment you’re most afraid of getting wrong.

Grateful for opportunities like this. They helped prepare me for the work I get to do today as a professional. The kid in this video had no idea where dance would take him. Looking back, every experience was building the foundation. I’m grateful he never stopped believing because it took him places all over the world.

The first time I ever performed live in this way.

Watching this back, I don’t just see a kid rapping. I see someone willing to try. Someone unafraid to step into the unknown and see what was possible.

I’ve spent most of my life dancing, but this video reminds me that there are so many versions of me still untapped.

The actor.The speaker.The artist.The creator.

And the beautiful thing is, I don’t need permission to explore any of them.

As I get ready for this next chapter, I’m reminding myself of something I’ve always known:

I can become whoever I decide to be.

Here’s to staying curious, fearless, and open to what’s next. Shoutout to my dance dad for holding space for me.

7-year-old me had no idea where this journey would lead.

He just knew he loved to dance.

Watching this back, I’m reminded of something I’ve been reconnecting with lately: courage.

Not the courage to be perfect. The courage to be seen.

The courage to take up space.

The courage to try, fail, learn, grow, and discover who I am becoming.

This little boy stepped into that circle without asking for permission. He wasn’t worried about being enough. He wasn’t waiting for validation. He simply showed up as himself.

As I prepare for this next chapter, that’s the energy I’m taking with me.

To be fearless.
To be curious.
To be unapologetic.
To trust myself.

I’m releasing the versions of me that no longer fit and making room for the man I’m becoming.

The older I get, the more I realize that growth isn’t about becoming someone else it’s about remembering who you’ve always been.

Thank you, young Swagg. You taught me more than you’ll ever know.
