Albert Campos is set to fight on the RWS event happening tomorrow in Bangkok. Some of you guys might remember seeing Albert fight for WCK Muay Thai at sycuan casino. It’s good to see that local shows such as the WCK bring in world class fighters for there shows and see those same fighters on the biggest stages of Muay Thai. Fights will be televised by DAZN

England has its first ever Rajadamnern World Series Champion in Joe Ryanat 160lbs. The fight went the distance with Joe winning on all the judges scorecards 49-46 .

This past weekend on Top Ranks main event we saw Robeisey Ramirez from Cuba current champ & 2 time Olympics gold medalist. Take on Rafael Espinoza from Mexico. From the first round Ramirez started with power shots he was the shorter fighter at 5’6, so he had to get in and out with his shots. Espinoza being the taller fighter at 6’1,stayed at range with straight shots upstairs followed by body shots and upper cuts. Espinoza came in as a huge +1500 underdog. That didn’t faze him one bit from the first round to the last round. His game plane didn’t change even when he got dropped. He got back up survived the round and continued throwing shots at Ramirez. Going into the 12th round the fight was pretty even with Ramirez up on the scorecards with his knockdown of Espinoza. The round started the same with Espinoza continuing to throw shots but seemed the volume of shots was getting to Ramirez which eventually overwhelmed him and got dropped. He got up before the 8 count but Espinoza continued the onslaught of punches. Thankfully for Ramirez the bell rang the fight had ended. It seemed the judges might take this one away from Espinoza took them a total of 15mins to count and re count the scorecards which read. 113-113, 114-112 and 115-111 For Espinoza. Espinoza was the new WBO 126lb. Champ.
Interesting fact:: this fight was held in a 16 X 16 ring. That’s a small ring!

Brandol Mendoza Vs. Sean Climaco lived up to the hype it was a good back and forth fight. Brandol won a split decision. Some agree with the decision and some don’t. We saw the fight and we had Sean edging it out. It was a good fight. It was close but we felt Sean’s approach to the fight was a bit more complete. He was utilizing all his weapons, we’re not saying Brandol didn’t but that’s how we saw it. A lot of things come into play. Sean being the out of towner had to win by Knockout, cut or completely shut down. Brandol to take the “W” and I feel that Sean was also up against local officials. Take a look at the pic and see how many of these guys are from the LA area? Also what were the judges scoring higher? Punches? Kicks? The problem here is the officials involved. That has been an issue that we have been having for some time in California and this is at a pro level. At the amateur level is even worse. It seemed we were headed in the right direction when the state took the power from the IKF as a sanctioning body for amateur Muay Thai opening the door for a more adequate organization to step in. It seemed the WBC was gonna do great things but, completely dropped everything in Cali to host their so called world tournaments and MDL’s. There needs to be some new blood in the CSAC guys that have actually competed AM & Pro but more recently. A lot of these guys on commissions are old Karate, Tae Kwon Do guys that have held there positions for over a few decades now! And No have a 2 day course on how to be an official does not cut it! That’s a money scam! The sport evolves, the fighters evils why can’t the officials evolve with it as well.

It seems like Lion Fight Muay Thai Promotions is at it again. It seems like Scott Kent has robbed another fighter of his earnings! That fighter is Stephen Walker. We caught up with Stephen and this is what he had to say.
How many fights did you have with Lion Fight? I had 14 fights with Lion Fight.
How many fights does Lion Fight owe you for? I didn’t get paid for 3 fights, the 2 fights in Boston and the last event in Las Vegas. Also didn’t get paid my ticket sales.
Did Lion Fight pay you for your plane ticket and hotel or did they tell you they would reimburse you.

Scott Kent has done this before we’re you aware of this? I heard about the rumors about them not paying there fighters. It’s like being in a relationship. You hear that your girl is a cheater but then you tell your self it won’t happen to me. Then BOOM it happened. Now everybody is coming out of the woodworks and telling me there stories about how lion fight still hasn’t paid them. Also Nathan Corbett who is a World Champion also didn’t get paid by Scott for commentating. He owes him 3K and it’s been over a year.

Hello Drako, how was this fight camp? It was a complete camp full of good fighters and great coaches like Mego Palomera, Jorge Capetillo, Héctor Vázquez and Bruno Antonieta. Honestly it was a very good camp all around and with the support of my management team Upper.

Did you do your whole camp at Extreme Couture? I worked at Extreme Couture, Capetillo Boxing, Cobrinha jiu jitsu in Las Vegas and Inv1ktus gym in Durango, Mex.

Was the transition from Mexico to Las Vegas easy for you? It was hard leaving my family. It was easy in the way that my sponsors and management team Upper supported me and opened the doors so I can compete in Bellator.

What type of fight do we expect to see from Drako tonight? The same Drako as always leaving it all in the cage! Always representing Mexico with pride!

How excited are you that K-1 is making a comeback? Very excited. K-1 was always the greatest fight spectacle on the planet. Fans like myself have been waiting a long time for K-1 to return globally, and finally after 13 years it is happening!

With all the kickboxing & Muay Thai events going on nowadays do you think any of them could still match the energy and excitement that
K1 Max & K1 GP had? No. K-1 was always leaps and bounds ahead of any other promotion regarding energy, excitement and production value. There are many fine promotions in the world but in relation to your question specifically, no, none of them will ever match what K-1 GP and K-1 MAX had,

I read you hadn’t been to Tokyo in about 13 years, what’s the first thing you did as soon as you got off the plane? Not exactly true. I have been to Tokyo since but NOT for a K-1 show. I was greeted by my driver at the airport, he was holding a K-1 sign and he said to me, "Schiavello-san! You are very famous! I am honoured to drive you! That put me in the mood!

I loved watching your show The Voice, anything in the works to bring it back? No. That was an AXS TV show when I was living in America working for AXS TV. It was a special show and I loved doing it. If any TV network wants to bring it back, I'm happy to discuss!

The most memorable fight that you were commentating on for me was Badr Vs Overeem 2, how was it being ringside for such a fight and especially with the rivalry they both had?
It was crazy. We created a tremendous storyline for that one with Badr for once being the "good" guy and Overeem playing the "villain". I helped orchestrate that storyline behind the scenes and to be there ringside as it played out was something I will never forget.

Hello Edgar how’s training going for your fight against Rodtang on ONE Championship?

Training is going good, thank god. Hard training every day!

The fight will be in the United States would you have liked the fight to have been in Thailand instead?

In reality it’s perfect that it will be in the United States. That way I can hurry up and get my visa.

How long have you been training Muay Thai?

Almost 20 years now.

How do you feel being one of the first Mexicnas to fight Muay Thai on ONE Championship?

I am the 3rd Mexican I think, the first was Tuzo Cruz and the 3rd I don’t remember his name. But I am very happy to be the first fighting for the ONE Championship!

What gym do you train at and what championships have you won?

I train at 3 gyms: My gym is Kings & Priests (I been running it for 14yrs), 2nd gym I train at is my uncle Brody Tavares gym Fighting Demons I’ve trained there my whole life! 3rd gym is Richard Cruz’s gym I’ve been there with him for 3yrs.

I am the current Triumphant Champion, current Budo Sento Championship Champion& WBC international Champion.

Muay Thai has been on the rise lately in Mexico, do you think its because of events like Budo Sento Championship that give’s Mexican Fighters an international platform since there events are televised worldwide?

Yes of course Budo Sento Championship has put us in the eyes of the world! Actually ONE Championships match makers saw my fight on Fox TV and that’s when they contacted me and they liked the fact that I was currently ranked and a champion for the WBC.

Your next fight is against Rodtang, what things have you done differently since Rodtang doesn’t have your traditional Muay Thai style?

We did a few strategies but after going through all of them we feel I have a similar style to his, so we are going to play our game and he’s going to play his game.
