But this is not just a cold picture of the Soviet winner, deinek still romanticizes his character, aspiring to a beautiful future for which there was still hope in those years. Footballers, swimmers, bodybuilders - these are the main plots of his paintings. Take, for example, the huge canvas "Goalkeeper" 1934 of the year from the collection of the Tretyakov gallery, where a goalkeeper is captured floating in the air, spreading his hands behind a ball flying towards the goal.
