Hello everyone! Here is a message from our 2022-2023 co-Presidentā¦
Hi my name is Keianna Pineda and this year I am extremely thankful to have been elected as the co-President of the UCLA Womenās Club Water Polo team. For the past three years I lead a tight-knit, student-run team of 75+ players from all identities and backgrounds. Our team is currently undefeated (8-0), ranked 3rd nationally by our governing body and I have taken upon myself to host our National Championships this year at UCLA (May 5-7th)!
Our SPARK Fundraiser has launched this month and your support would mean so much to us, after all of our former cabinet and I have put into growing this program. When my co-president Jess and I entered UCLA in 2019, the Presidents of that time period had been meticulously working since 2014 to help grow our program, achieving financial stability, a new coach, and an ever-growing team. Although we were forced to stop playing during COVID and left with only 5 players, it did not halt our momentum. These past two years Jess and I have spent countless hours navigating new protocols, coaching the team ourselves, and trying to keep our players engaged. Luckily, we operate on a small budget in comparison to other club teams and have continued to grow! We hope to continue to maximize the use of our money and establish ourselves as a serious student-run organization.
