Training breaks you down, but the payoff long term is why we put in so much effort to every day.
Some days the weights feel heavier than we think they should, sometimes they feel lighter than air and we question if the plates are 2.5 kg instead of 25 kg.
The ups and downs of training can be humbling, annoying, and, at times, so frustrating that we want to quit. If we don’t fall into the mental trap of giving in to quitting, a PR or ah-ha moment is right around the corner.
Cry about it, yell obscenities, get pi**ed, throw a tantrum - do whatever you have to do to get through the downs then move on from your day and come back stronger the next day.
Do it for you, do what you love, make every day count. They all add up.
