Lonsdale Karate

Lonsdale Karate Dedicated to helping people better themselves through karate, kobudo, and aikido. We teach classical Okinawan Karate and Kobudo.

Tim has trained in Japan and is directly connected to Akamine Hiroshi Sensei, the President of the Karate and Kobudo associations to which the dojo belongs. Tim is the senior foreign Karateka in the Organization. He was also the first licensed Kobudo instructor for the Shimbukan system in the US. He is supported by several black belts, all with many years of experience. We have classes on Monday t

hrough Friday for Karate, and on Tuesday and Thursday for Kobudo and on Saturday for Aikido. Age 4-6 Karate M-W-F 4:30 to 5:15
Age 7-12 Karate M-F 5:15 to 6:15
Age 13-Adult Karate M-W-F 6:15 to 7:45

Kobudo Tuesday and Thursday for teens and adults from 6:15 to 8:00

Aikido Saturday 10:00 to 12:00

Tuition will remain at $25 per student per month per day attended. So if you attend two classes a week, then your tuition will be $50; if you attend three or more sessions, then it will be $75. Those attending karate, kobudo, and aikido could have up to 6 sessions weekly, capped at $75 per month. We serve the greater Lonsdale area including Webster, Vesseli, Montgomery, Kilkenny, Shieldsville, New Prague, Faribault, Elko, New Market, Faribault, Lakeville, and Burnsville. All are welcome to try a class for free with no obligation. We believe our quality will keep students coming back, so we do not use contracts to lock students in.

$25 - $75 a month per student based on planned attendance. Those interested in Yoga should reach out to Jessica Emerson at [email protected]. She runs her program independently and can provide class times and prices.

I want to thank my dear friend from Germany, Thomas, for sharing these photos that he took while we were in Canada for what was a world-class seminar in Karate and Kobudo put on by Akamine Hiroshi Sensei and organized by Sheree and Mary Margaret. It drew people from across Canada, the US, Mexico, Australia, Germany, England, and Japan. We covered almost the entire syllabus for two systems! Campbell River is a bit hard to get to, but it is a great place to reach, and the wonderful parks, trails, and whale watching made it a great location. Part 1.

I have a couple of announcements. First, we don't have classes on Federal Holidays, so no class this coming Monday in observance of Labor Day. Second, I have been invited to be one of the instructors for Dieter Von Der Marwitz's Class of the Kyoshi event this year. That means I won't be in the dojo Thursday through Saturday Sept 10-12. An Chi will have class on Thursday, but on Friday she has other obligations, so the dojo will be closed Friday and Saturday. Sorry for any inconvenience. I would encourage you to consider attending Dieter Sensei's event in St. Anthony Falls area of Minneapolis. There are some great instructors who are going to be there and it is always fun to train with quality organizations such as his.
