You know what the real problem is? People’s social media accounts are monetized. So the more controversy they generate…the more replies they get (no matter the sides)…they get paid regardless.

As a person also with a monetized social media platform, I see through it all now. People don’t even post truth anymore. In fact, I believe people purposely post falsehoods and lies because it’s a sure fire way to get people to comment. I can tell these instances because they post but go min a closet and let others fight on their timeline…and get money off of generating jibberish, divisive, socially corrosive content. I take the responsibility of a monetized, influential social media space very, very seriously. There’s an accountability that should come with such a blessing.

There - someone had to say it, because unfortunately, many for don’t even know the dynamics of social media influencer monetization. Social media could be a great space to have real dialogue. Instead, we are eroding truth. People don’t know what to believe anymore. It’s disheartening to humanity. Money is the primary God for waaaaay too many people. The sad part??? Many people don’t even realize this.

I’ve got lots to say about lots of things happening right now. The recent trial. The NBA…Knicks and Spurs. Health. Work life balance. Christianity, Christian responses and decisions…the quick, uninvited judgment and condemnation onto others when no one but God has that power.

Is there really any hope? Feels like the end is closer than we realize. Some days I can’t help but hope so. Then I think if my kids and think…”Are we really leaving the next generation a better world than what we had?” Feels worse…like…REALLY worse. Breaks my heart.

So proud of these boys. Aren’t they sharp? They’ve taken my quote to heart: “If people don’t kn oh w who you are, dress like you want them to ask!”

Running this monstrous basketball empire is quite challenging, and yesterday’s FBA - Florida Basketball Association day was no exception. In fact, internally, for me, yesterday was torture on so many levels and for so many reasons.

TWO BRIGHT SPOTS THOUGH - my Florida Flight Basketball Academy high school team won, and…look at these two brothers…Maahir and Udeysha. Both Academy kiddos. One now at UCF and the younger one still playing. They got experience doing play by play commentary.

It’s why I tell people that our program is really second to none. There are soooooo many reasons and examples as to how and why we stand out. It always has and ALWAYS WILL be more than basketball here. Kids that love basketball can make something of that passion much easier than other programs.

You can start by playing, but continuing to play in college and even professionally is not for everyone. BUT…you can move into coaching, operations and even gain experience in sports broadcasting. As tough as yesterday’s pro team loss was, this was a shining light to the day. This is a win that surpasses any game results, because THIS…is…a LIFE win. Seeing kids excel and gain experience like this…it’ll pay off big time for these kids in the end.

Celebrating this girl at her annual Orlando Metro Gymnastics banquet tonight. Gymnastics is such a tough, time-consuming sport. Lots of ups and downs, but I am so proud of this girl’s fight and commitment to stay at it. What a journey it’s already been. Love you !

I’m late on this, but…better late than never. The Florida Flight are back at it this weekend. It’s 3-PEAT SEASON in the FBA - Florida Basketball Association.

And pay no attention to those 2 TBL road games. Injuries have wreaked havoc on us, but our new guys are locked in now. Too bad those teams declined to return the favor and play us on OUR home court. Ehhh…I don’t blame them. That was sure to be an “L” for them. is A PROBLEM!!!!

Hope to see you at some games…starting this Sunday. And…SHOUT OUT TO OUR 3 TITLE SPONSORS THIS SEASON!!!
, , and .kidstherapy! You are the real MVPs!

Just finished watching the movie AIR again. Such an inspiring movie. Reminds me of how much I love competition, especially business competition. I’ve got a lot of business development opportunities on the horizon again. I had a couple of strong basketball meetings lately, too. I’m so energized.

I’ve never really talked about this publicly, but several years ago, as Director of Business Development for a law firm back in the day, I took the lead and landed one of the largest HOAs in the United States and the largest HOA in Florida as a client - Association of Poinciana Villages (APV). They have 27,000+ properties, and is actually larger than many Florida cities.

I was just thinking about that again after watching this movie. I love board rooms. I love driving success. I’ve learned soooo much over the years. Most important business development elements? Authenticity, the truest pursuit of excellence, and a belief in what you are selling. Hey…with my wife as COO leading that firm? I definitely believed in what we were selling.

And to think…they thought…ehhhh it doesn’t matter anymore anyway. High road. Good thing I signed that client though. They might not even exist anymore otherwise.

My vision, competitiveness and passions keep me up some nights (like tonight). I know I’m wired much differently than others. I take things too personal, but I’m always all in on the things I put my heart into. I’ve got a couple of cool ideas brewing. One I’m exTREMELY excited about. Holding it in my pocket a little longer. Not ready yet. Best believe it’ll be entertaining and hopefully inspiring nonetheless. One day I’ll share the full Florida Flight Jumpman story. That’s really cool, too.

Anyway…my overshare for the night. No dead squirrels…If you know…you know. 🤦🏻‍♂️😂🤣🤷🏻‍♂️🤯

This is crazy. Makes me pretty frustrated actually. See the two different posts. One about animals, and one about trying to give free basketball training for kids.

Look at the engagement differences. It’s staggering. Why don’t people care more about kids? Or do they just hate basketball? I don’t get it. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Here’s my thoughts on the Orlando Magic hiring Sean Sweeney…

They are adding another coach without as much playing credibility. And expertise. Why hire the guy that spent so much time learning under Kidd when JASON KIDD HIMSELF was available? I know he has some people throwing him under the bus, but he’s still a hall of fame PG. he still took Dallas to the Finals.

What I saw from the Magic players was a team that abandoned Mosley and what he was trying to do/build . They didn’t seem to have enough respect for him. They would try to run zoom offense, but midway through the system, break the system in favor of one on one / step back jump shots. That is ACCIDENTAL BASKETBALL! Even my Florida Flight pro and youth teams saw this.

I think they need a coach with playing credibility that commands respect. That’s ultimately why the Magic released him. The thing is…Kidd, Sweeney’s coaching mentor for much of his assistant life, would’ve given that to the Magic.

I know Sweeney seems to be a defensive guy, but Mosley already made the Magic better defensively. They didn’t buy in to his offensive structure. To me, if you are firing someone, you bring in someone able to do what the previous coach couldn’t. They’ll need to revamp some of this roster to get better offensively. The players lacked patience and trust, and made a lot of bad shot selections.

What’s interesting is Mosley, too, spent time with the Mavericks…a team with an executive office that traded away and blew up that finals team. I would’ve liked to see Kidd run it back with Klay in the mix, but they blew that team up for a player that is also no longer there. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Jason Kidd brings instant hall of fame credibility and player respect. Sweeney spent a good amount of his time as an assistant WITH Kidd…LEARNING from Kidd. Are we trying to save money? Pay less for coaching again? Why get the guy who learned from Kidd instead of Kidd himself, when the players clearly need a coach that has a strong experienced playing career that can command respect and buy in? My best guess is that we spent too much on our player roster, leaving us to cut salary corners elsewhere. That is what it seems like to me.
