💙 The Final Heart Work

👉 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” — John 16:33

This is our last Heart Work of the season, and it’s an important reminder… not just for baseball, but for life.

We are told over and over not to fear or be afraid. Jesus didn’t say back down, get discouraged, or quit when trouble comes. He said take heart! Because He has already overcome every trouble this world offers. We simply just have to acknowledge this, speak the word over our lives, family, & situations, and trust that what God said is true regardless of circumstances.

We walk by faith… not by sight. Not by feelings or what others say. God’s word is truth and we set our minds on what He has said. When we do this, His peace is present.

We want our players to grow up knowing:
• Hard days don’t define them
• Failure doesn’t finish them
• Tough seasons don’t break them
• They are never battling alone

The real victory is not the final score, it’s learning to walk through life with faith because we know Who goes before us.

If these boys learn now to lean on Jesus, they’ll grow into young men who stay steady.

That’s the lesson that lasts longer than baseball.
That’s the win that can’t be taken away.
That’s why it’s More Than a Game. 💛

🏆 More Than a Game MVP: Everett Gunby

The final MVP of the season goes to Everett Gunby, a teammate who has lifted others up all season long.

Everett is the voice of encouragement on this team. He’s the first one to cheer for others, the first to shout support across the field, and the first to celebrate someone else’s success. That kind of leadership doesn’t show up on a stat sheet, but it changes a team.

He didn’t miss a single practice all year, stayed locked in, and never stopped encouraging the boys around him.

The picture might be chaotic, but it’s perfect because the whole team is there to celebrate him, just like he has been there for them all year long. 🙌⚾

💙 Heart Work: Week 16 💙

👉 “Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right.” — Ephesians 6:1

This verse reminds us that obedience is more than just “doing what you’re told.”
True obedience is how we do it… with the right heart, not just the right action.

Back talk is not obedience.
Dragging your feet is not obedience.
Having to be told more than once is not obedience.
Doing it halfway is not obedience.

Real obedience is:
✅ Doing what you are asked
✅ The first time you are asked
✅ With your best effort
✅ And your best attitude

Because the way a child learns to obey their parents now is the same way they will learn to obey the Lord as they grow. A heart that honors authority at home becomes a heart that honors God later in life.

Parents:
Keep planting these seeds. The daily reminders, the correcting, the redirecting - it matters. You’re not just shaping behavior, you’re shaping their hearts for the Lord. Don’t grow weary in the training… the fruit comes later.

Players:
This week, your challenge is to obey the first time, with a willing heart, not just a willing body. Every time you do, you’re becoming stronger not just as a ballplayer, but as a young man of character.

This is the kind of growth that outlasts trophies.
This is More Than a Game. 🙌
