“We warm the shoulders first because the body opens best when it feels safe.”
🙏Reverse Prayer opens the chest, shoulders, wrists, and upper back while encouraging better posture and awareness of how we carry our body.
🙏Preparing for reverse prayer is really about creating heat and pliability through the shoulders, chest, wrists, and upper back while allowing the nervous system to soften shhhh… and breath into the posture gently.
🙏It’s important to warm the body prior to any extreme stretch, even if you consider yourself a seasoned yogi! Give yourself permission to slow down and prepare ✨
🙏Here are some yummy prep stretches and movements you can move through to prepare your body for this beautiful, soul drenching , connected ASANA…Reverse Prayer 🙏
* Thread the Needle
* Puppy Pose
* Cactus Arms
* Gentle wrist circles
* Prayer hands at heart center , slowly lower the wrists
* Shoulder rolls - don’t forget to reverse those rolls!
* Cat-Cow / Side to Side Cat Cow
* Seated side stretches / Twists
* Dolphin Pose
* Breath and Repeat until the body feels warm and safe…then find your reverse prayer….ahhhhh
