Wakeless TAG!
That would be your Wakeless Thursday Afternoon Gang!
Thursday evenings are "Quiet Hours" at Boulder Rez from 5 - 9pm.
BOULDER REZ - BOULDER REZ - BOULDER REZ
What does that mean?
Water conditions will be at the whim of the weather, not the water-skiers and wake-boarders.
What else does that mean?
It means that on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month I'll be out there doing 1k pieces. I've discovered a 1000m course (well, just a touch longer) from the first buoy near the dam, along the buoy line, past the dock, past the kayak rack to a buoy that will be on your starboard side of the straight line of buoys as you head towards the mountains (yep, clear as mud). Anyway, it's a course that I plan to race back and forth on at least 4 times with a decent chunk of rest in between.
If you want to play Wakeless TAG with me, plan to be warmed up and meet at the damn end buoy at 6pm for the first piece/race. Bring your own boat or reserve a BCR boat if you're certified. This is not a BCR event, but me going for a row and inviting friends to join me. 😊 We will self seed for the first piece with the assumed fastest boat running closest to the line of buoys. Next piece we'll line up based on the results of the first piece.... Goal obviously will be to get as close as you can to the line buoys for as many pieces as possible.
Why do you want to do this?
1) get used to rowing a straight line
2) get used to the master's sprint race distance
3) see the sun set instead of rise
4) talk some smack
5) get more comfortable in the little boats, get faster, and have FUN!
6) and maybe get a frosty beverage afterwards to celebrate the effort.
No need to RSVP for any particular day - your presence will be your RSVP.
2nd and 4th Thursdays.
6/13, 6/27
7/11, 7/25
8/8, 8/22
and then the format will likely change as we progress to head race season.
TAG - you're it!
