🕘 Throwback Thursday post to our end-of-season banquet in June where Coach Chad announced our Big Dog of the Year award 🏆 to MS Rocket T&F athlete Luke Dugan! (Pictured here are a few HS athletes delivering his trophy as he was unable to attend.)

We give this shoutout today as Luke started his 4th round of chemo yesterday at Children’s. Luke was admitted to the hospital for a total of 4 days to receive treatment. Please keep Luke in your thoughts and pray for the days following treatment...That is when his immune system is zero and he is most prone to infection. Those are the most anxiety filled days, as he has already had fevers spike and been back to the hospital after previous rounds of treatment...His family is one of faith and they look to God for their strength, "He’s got us. 💪🏼 Thank you for the support. Means the world. 🌎" says his mom Cate.

Calling on all of our track family to rally around in prayer and continue to support Luke in his battle. There is a light at the end of the tunnel - he has two rounds left after this, with the completion of his treatment landing on his 14th birthday...A day which can't come soon enough. You got this Luke! Keep up the fight! 212° 🙏💚💙🚀

Nike Outdoor Nationals (NON) 2026 ✔️
To cap off the 2026 season, some of our athletes with national qualifying times made the trip to compete on the big stage over the weekend at historic Hayward Field in Track Town, USA 🇺🇸 We’re incredibly proud of every athlete who put in the work & represented our program with heart.💚 What an honor to represent MN on the National stage among some of the best in the country.

🏅Mixed 4x400m relay - 5th, All American
🏅Boys 4x200m relay - 6th
Boys MS 100m & 400m

We appreciate the support of our community to help cover some of the costs to make this possible, thank you Rockford Lions & Northwest Area Jaycees! It takes a village and we are grateful to be part of this one.

✨Final State recap post:
Every athlete who qualified on the Rockford boys T&F team made the podium for All State honors (top 9 finishers) in at least one if not all of their events. Huge accomplishment at this level. This contributed to the team’s 5th place finish overall! Here’s a quick recap of the individual results:

🏆Adam Boerboom atop the podium in 6th place for Pole Vault and finished 14th overall in the 110m Hurdles.

🏆Kaden Terrell finished atop the podium in 9th place in Discus

🥈4x200m relay- Simon Morgan, Wil Bemah, Max Ladman and Ethan Robran ran a record-setting race to take 2nd place!

🥉400m- Ethan Robran finished on the podium 3rd overall with a record breaking time! Ethan becomes the highest finish for any individual boys track athlete in the program's history.

🥇4x400m relay- Max Ladman, Wil Bemah, Joshua Janus and Ethan Robran combined for a 1st place finish and record breaking time, becoming the first State Champion track event in the history of Rockford boys track and field!

Rockford’s girls also had multiple podium finishes. Out of 6 girls who qualified, 3 made the podium and All State honors! Here’s a quick recap of the results:

🏆High Jump - Riley Freed All-State honors atop the podium back-to-back seasons finishing 9th and placing 13th overall in long jump.

✨Pole Vault - 7th grader Lima Radach in her first year on the team qualified for State and finished tied for 14th with a personal best.

🏆Long Jump - Lily Fowler jumped her personal best to take All State honors with 8th place on the podium while finishing tied for 13th in the high jump.

🏆400m - Cora Larson runs a record breaking time to finish 5th atop the podium with All State honors while finishing 14th in the 200m. Junior Tessa Birznieks finished 11th overall in the 400m.

Great end to the season. We can't wait to see what 2027 brings for this program! Thanks to everyone; coaches, parents, ISD 883 Staff, MSHSL officials & all who work together to build a safe environment of growth for these young student athletes...Proud of our Rockford community! 💚✨Go Rockets!

🥉State podium finish! 🏆 Congratulations to Junior Ethan Robran! Ethan qualified through prelims to finals in the 400m and finished 3rd resetting his 🚨 school record 🚨 with a time of 48.75! 🔥 Ethan also anchored the 2nd place 4x200m and State Champion 4x400m relays, both of which also established new school records. Way to go Ethan! 🥇🥈🥉 🚀💚🙌

🏅State podium finish! 🏆 Back‑to‑back years qualifying in BOTH High Jump & Long Jump — Junior Riley Freed continues to prove she’s one of the State's top contenders in the jumps. Riley finished 9th on the podium in a tight field of high jumpers, and 13th overall in an equally tight field of long jumpers. 🔥 Proud of the grit, consistency, and big‑meet energy she brings every year. 🏅State podium finish! 🏆 Congratulations to Freshman Cora Larson! Cora qualified through prelims to finals in the 400m & capped off her season with a 5th place podium finish and reset the 🚨 school record 🚨with a time of 57.51! Cora also qualified in the 200m finishing 14th at State and currently sits in 2nd all-time for Rockford in the event. The future looks bright! 😎 🚀💚🙌
