NORTH PARK IS GOING BACK TO QUÉBEC!

After a two-year hiatus, North Park is thrilled to announce that our 2014 team has been accepted to participate in the Québec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament this February! Widely considered one of the premier youth hockey tournaments in the world, the event has brought together generations of 11- and 12-year-old players from across the globe since 1960. The remarkable alumni include Wayne Gretzky, Ron Francis, Marcel Dionne, Steve Yzerman, Mario Lemieux, and former North Park parent and coach Brendan Shanahan.

For countless players, competing in Québec remains one of the most memorable experiences of their youth hockey careers. We are incredibly excited for our 2014 players and families to become part of that tradition.

Over the past two seasons, North Park/NYC Hockey Club has also been proud to participate in the Tournoi International de Hockey Pee-Wee B.S.R., another outstanding Québec youth hockey tradition. We are pleased to announce that we will once again field a team at the tournament as it celebrates its 50th anniversary in 2027.

Future Hall of Famer Sidney Crosby competed in the B.S.R. Tournament and still holds several of its records. In February 2025, our team added its own chapter to the tournament’s history by capturing the championship. Both tournaments offer extraordinary international hockey experiences, and we look forward to continuing our relationship with each of them for years to come.

We will be announcing tryout details in the coming weeks to round out our B.S.R. team, which will be made up primarily of players from our 2015 birth year.

Every September 11, we honor the family members, friends, and loved ones who lost their lives in the attacks.

On this 25th anniversary, we remember Tom Hynes, a beloved North Park coach who was lost on that tragic day. Tom’s legacy remains an important part of our organization, and we honor his memory each year through the presentation of the Tom Hynes Award.

Join us today in cheering on our coaches, Rose Alleva and Emma Seitz, who are representing Team USA at the 2026 Ball Hockey World Championship in the Czech Republic.

Team USA is enjoying a tremendous tournament, remaining undefeated in regulation and advancing to today’s gold medal game against the host nation, the Czech Republic, at 1:30 PM (EST).

As the defending world champions, Team USA earned its spot in the finals by defeating Canada 3–2 yesterday. Our own Coach Emma Seitz scored the game-winning goal with just three minutes remaining in regulation. Coach Rose Alleva has been outstanding on defense throughout the tournament, while Coach Emma leads Team USA in scoring with 8 goals in 6 games.

Let’s go, Team USA! Bring home the gold! 🇺🇸🥇

THE BEGINNING OF SOMETHING SPECIAL – THANK YOU FOR AN INCREDIBLE SEASON

As we wrap up the first season of our Girls Hockey Program, we just want to say thank you to everyone who helped make this year happen. Starting something new always takes a leap of faith, and this community showed up in a big way.

This year, we launched with our Girls Limited Season, and it gave us a great foundation to build on. Seeing the players come together, compete, and grow has been incredible. And the best part is, this is only the start — next year we’re excited to expand into a Girls Full Season. The 2026–’27 season will also mark the 40th Anniversary of our program, which makes this next chapter even more meaningful.

To our players — thank you for bringing your energy, your work ethic, and your love of the game every time you stepped on the ice. You set the tone for what this community can become.

To our families — thank you for believing in the idea from the very beginning and for supporting these players every step of the way.

To our coaches — thank you for the time, care, and dedication you poured into this group. The impact you’ve had on these players goes far beyond the rink.

And to the broader hockey community, including the teams we competed against this season — thank you for helping create such a competitive and welcoming environment for girls’ hockey to keep growing.

Year one is in the books, but it really does feel like we’re just getting started. The talent, determination, and sportsmanship we’ve seen on the ice this season make us incredibly excited about where our girls hockey community is headed.

Thank you for being part of the beginning. We’re looking forward to what comes next.

NORTH PARK 8U LEAFS CAPTURE KING OF THE HILL CHAMPIONSHIP

The North Park 8U Central Park Leafs participated in the Long Island Amateur Hockey League’s “King of the Hill” tournament on February 21st at Aviator Ice Rink in Brooklyn. The event drew eight clubs which were divided into West and East Divisions. Each team played three 25-minute, full ice, divisional games with the top team in each division making it to the Championship Game. The Leafs won a close, one-goal contest in their first game before winning the next two via shutouts. In the Finals, the Leafs were knotted in a 1-1 tie midway through the game before a five goal outburst down the stretch sealed a 6-1 victory. In addition to stellar goaltending and lock down defense, the Leafs benefitted from a balanced attack which saw each player register at least two points.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Oscar, a beloved member of our North Park family.

Oscar made a lasting impression on our community. He brought a spirited energy and a genuine love for the game—qualities that made him unforgettable to his coaches and teammates and will stay with us.

We honor Oscar’s memory and the lasting impact he had on all of us. He will be truly missed, both on and off the ice.

Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with his family, friends, teammates, and all who knew and loved him.

NORTH PARK 14UA SILVER SHINES WITH TWO LEAGUE TITLES

It’s been an incredible ride for the North Park 14UA Silver team. Winning not one, but two league titles, they’ve left a mark on the season that won’t soon be forgotten.

The first milestone came in the 2025–’26 HVHL A1 League Championship. After an exciting semifinal win over North Park 14UA Black, the team showed what they were made of with a commanding 5–0 victory against Mamaroneck Tigers in the finals.

They didn’t stop there. Riding that momentum, the North Park 14UA Silver captured the 2025–’26 LIAHL A League Championship, besting Long Island Kings in the semifinals and clinching the finals with a 5–1 victory over Dix Hills.

This accomplishment is shared by the players, the coaches, and the families — congratulations on an incredible championship season!

NORTH PARK GIRLS 14U/16U BRING HOME THE CLUB LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP! 🏆

The North Park Girls 14U/16U team came out strong in the semifinals, earning a commanding 6–1 win over Beacon Hill. On a bitter cold day — with temperatures at 5°F and a wind chill of -8°F — the team powered through two back-to-back games, carrying their momentum into the championship against Essex and finishing with a dominant 5–0 shutout victory to claim the title.

As the inaugural season for our North Park Girls 14U/16U team, this championship marks an exciting milestone for our program. We’re thrilled to have such a talented group of players representing North Park and helping build a strong future for our girls hockey community. 💙💚
