I just don't know what to say. Amanda was such a kind soul. She had just gotten a new bike and we helped her get things right...fitting...a tweak here and there. Just chatter among nice people. We gave Amanda and her bike extra TLC... simply... we were fond of her.

A beloved avid bicyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash by a burglary suspect trying to evade NYPD cops on his tail in Queens, police said Wednesday.

Rough end to the day. The wind. Most important... the kindness of my friends. Long Island City has been good to me. I made one call to another local LIC business owner, Meir Newman. Meir left dinner with his dear friend and they took care of me.
