In Loving Memory of Davon Porter ❤️
With broken hearts, the Gleason's Gym Jersey Shore and New Jersey Give a Kid a Dream Foundation family mourn the tragic loss of our beloved friend and champion, Davon Porter, who passed on January 3rd at just 30 years old.
Davon was more than a New Jersey Golden Glove champion—he was a champion of life. Whether training in the ring, mentoring young boxers, or working as a union carpenter, he brought unwavering dedication, heart, and generosity to everything he did.
His positive energy filled our gym. He was always the first to encourage a teammate, guide a young fighter, or step up when someone needed help. His last night with us was spent doing what he loved—working hard in the ring, surrounded by coaches and fellow boxers.
To the young warriors who looked up to Davon: he believed in you. Honor his memory by championing hard work, friendship, and service to others, just as he did.
Davon was not only a boxer but he was also a dedicated union carpenter, so The Davon Porter Scholarship has been established in his name to support young people interested in all trades, ensuring his legacy of generosity and building futures continues.
