We recently completed a new Signage Field Guide for the City of Riverside, CA - City Government, transforming complex regulations and design guidance into a clear, graphics-forward resource for applicants.

The guide streamlines content from the City’s General Sign Provisions, Sign Design Guidelines, and Sign Permit Process into an intuitive format that is easier to understand and use. Illustrated diagrams, dimensional standards, materials guidance, and visual examples help clarify requirements while also highlighting best practices for effective, high-quality sign design.

By pairing policy clarity with practical design guidance, the Field Guide helps applicants make more informed decisions and navigate the sign approval process with greater confidence.

Moon Park is making headlines!

The Los Angeles Times recently covered our Moon Park Reimagined engagement event with the City of Costa Mesa, held on the 57th anniversary of the Apollo 11 moon landing that inspired the park’s name.

Community members gathered to share their ideas and help shape a renovation concept that reflects the needs of local families. It was one small step toward an exciting new chapter for Moon Park.

What can happen when a community reclaims its streets for people?

Join City Fabrick and Long Beach Fresh for a free screening of StreetFilm's Close Encounters of the 34th Ave Kind at the Art Theatre of Long Beach, supported by AARP as part of Long Beach Fresh’s Week of Actions programming.

The film explores how neighbors transformed New York City’s 34th Avenue into a vibrant space for walking, biking, gathering, and connecting. Following the screening, City Fabrick Director of Urban Design + Planning Alex Jung will join a panel discussion on community-driven approaches to creating safer, more welcoming streets and public spaces.

Afterward, we’ll head across the street to Lola’s Mexican Cuisine for lunch and more conversation.

How can our coast be easier to reach for everyone?

At our recent Everyone’s Coast Open House at the Homeland Cultural Center in MacArthur Park, community members explored potential transportation and mobility improvements and shared feedback on how traveling to and from the coast can be safer and more comfortable.

The open house is part of Zone In: Everyone’s Coast, a partnership with the City Of Long beach to develop a mobility plan for central long beach as well as a zoning update to better-align community priorities for our coastal communities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and shared their ideas! Your input help helps shape recommend recommendations for a better, equitable Long Beach. The conversation continues and there will be more opportunities to share your voice!

Shalimar Park is entering a new chapter shaped by the people who call Costa Mesa’s Westside home.

The Los Angeles Times recently highlighted the groundbreaking for the park’s renovation and the community’s vision for a safer, more welcoming space that supports play, connection, and neighborhood pride. Planned improvements include an updated playground, new lighting, additional safety features, and a multi-use court that can serve as a small soccer field.

We are proud to support a project grounded in the experiences and aspirations of the Shalimar community.

July is Parks Make Life Better!® Month, a celebration of the many ways parks support healthier, more connected, and more vibrant communities.

In this video, we explore five ways parks make life better, illustrated through City Fabrick projects across Long Beach. From helping children build confidence on a bicycle to preserving community history and transforming dangerous streets into welcoming public spaces, thoughtful park design creates opportunities for people of all ages to play, gather, learn, and belong.

How can community development help preserve the people, culture, and businesses that make a neighborhood home?

On August 4th, City Fabrick’s Urban Design + Planning Director Alex Jung will lead National CAPACD members on a mobile tour of Cambodia Town in Long Beach.

The tour will highlight how the Cambodia Town Thrives collaborative is advancing equitable development through creative placemaking, small business support, community land ownership, organizing, and community-led planning rooted in culture and the arts.
