This week we're shouting out members Mario, Alyssa and Ben!

Alyssa:
"I took about a month off the gym to take care of some big life changes but couldn’t stay away any longer. Today I’ll finish my first full week back and I gotta say, I really missed this place. I love the members, the coaches, and the community support that keeps me accountable."

Mario:
"I joined Metcon about 3 months ago after told me how great it was. I was hesitant at first because I was afraid to get hurt especially with my weight. I found though that everything can be modified and the coaches are awesome and a great help! Day 1 I couldn't even do 1 air squat and three months later I'm doing 150lb back squats! I've also lost about 16lb and find myself with more energy, confidence and flexibility. I still have a ways to go, but I'm very happy I joined!"

Ben:
"I've made significant progress on back squats and deadlifts! When it comes to back squats, I have witnessed my strength increase over the course of 9 months. At the start of this year I injured my back trying to back squat too heavy of a weight that made me rethink how I approached this movement. I took the coaches advice on perfecting form and gradually increased in weight. During the most recent testing week, I set a new back squat PR of 195 #. Deadlift is another movement that I've made significant progress on. I've been focusing on keeping a straight back and on my overall stance when performing the movement. I also set a new PR of 225 # on deadlifts during testing week! Overall, I've come to realize that the coaches really want athletes to perfect these movements and to grow stronger by focusing on form over anything else. I see the way it is programmed into the workouts and it has definitely made me a better athlete!"
